He has twitch fibers of a 23 year old says the commentator. Losing his support at the crucial stage Cavendish just blew past them all in Stage 6 for his second win.

The age maniac finds another rare example where a older person won something.   He si totally unhinged as per normal.

Actually the rare example would be the 23 year old who wins in an individual, skill sport. They can function in teams where experienced team mates take care of the mental challenges….but only the greats like Federer, Nadal and Joker ….win at a young age.

And those greats just keep winning.

Still seeing a 36year old beat the youngsters in an endurance/sprint event blows a huge hole in the theory that 30 is the end for athletes.

If you see an early 20 year old blowing everyone away, you have a once in a generation talent who will likely become the 35+ year old who will destroy the youngsters.

The problem is that entertainment has become so superficial and hollow, that instead of enjoying what they have they look for the next big thing each and every season. Time and again these flubs are crowned before they ever do anything. The great Mahomes who was supposed to replace Brady's legacy, now tarnished forever. The Flub dubbers never learn.

Augie it’s a disease in our rugby….this coronation of mediocre youth. Hell even the Duds improved a bit as they reached mid career, but prior to that they were clueless.

The problem remains the exact opposite to what the Kindergarten Imbecile and the age maniac imply.    When "greats start failibng - bring in younger players to replace them and give the younger players at least a chance to perform and prove themselves.

This happens in all codes of sport - also in tennis.   Djokovic and  Nadal has admitted in the past that theya re under threat from younger players and the name the real threats to them.   Djokovic ios the only one of the three that succeeded ion winning two titles in near to 10 months and Federer is an embarrassment when he did play.

It is easy for the seeded players to beat qualifiers and some low ranked players and they start showing deficiencies when meeting slightly better opposition.    Both Federer and Murray are showing clear signs that they are not the players they used to pbe and failed in their come-back games after injuries forced them out.    There is no chance of Federer winning today against the no 29 seeded Norrie - same as happened to Murray yesterday.

us far Djokovic did not look up to his normal self  at6 Wimbledon.    Yesterday he showed it against Kudla who  is ranked number 114 in the world rankings and not a spring chicken anyway.

After the younger players have all at one stage or another beat the greats in the past year,   and nothing will change to that tendency.     The greats remain the greats of the past and they will win sometimes - but generally  older players  tend to fade out and it is only reasonable to accept that fact.    It applies in all codes of sport.

Actually, this is where you and disagree. I have said that a youngster with promise can have a shot, but he has to prove himself. Has Damian, Steph, Lood proved themselves? No. Very poor production. They never ousted an older player out, because they couldn't do it. Likewise all the other fan flubs like Watson, Goosen, Lambie, Serfontein, JJ, Jantjies. It's that simple. Look at the veterans who have been criticised over the years: Percy, Os, Frans, Schalk, Matfield, Habana, Du Preez et al. They all hit the ground running when they burst onto the scene. The flubs "need time". And time can turn into seven years of waiting and before you know it, he was just a body in a je rsey all along.

Cavendish wins a 4th stage and blasts through for a 34th career stage win tying him with the all time record of Eddie Merckx. What a great accomplishment for a man written off by many.
