Average age of the mens and ladies semifinalists 29. Older is better.....it's true sport after sport. Thought I'd just make your day.

Just a pity woman's tennis is in a pretty sad place right now. A 33 year old winning the title confirms that. Woman's tennis is such a yawn right now I would not know who the top 5 are.
Much like the state of heavy weight boxing right now.

Watch out for Madison Keys a 19 year old who lost to Serena in the semis. She could well have won the first set and then anything might have happened. Matched Serena for power and even serving. A change is about to happen.

Madison Keys could have beaten Serena is she had  played the big points more conservatively. She has a wonderful ground game and seems like a nice kid for a change.

Agreed...women's tennis is in great shape, why wouldn't it be, thanks to the Williams sisters who introduced power tennis.

Serena, a true competitor, seemed off the pace in the second set but knew the way to the winning post.....it will be long time before we see that type of attitude and consistency once she retires.

Dead right denny, for the last 13 years they have all been Serena's tournaments to lose.
Tomorrow should be interesting. The mope Murray is in form and the Joker seems listless. Should be close. I hope Murray joins the party and acts like a human being, the Stan/Novak match was a throw back to the sixties in terms of collegiality and sportsmanship....applauding each other's great shots.

Well Mate, for years I've been singing her praises only to be told she was a drug user.....absolute crap of course.

She has the respect of everyone including her fellow competitors.

The Murray vs Djokovic clash does nothing for me, they play the same boring game with double handed backhands and powerful serves. Like you, I enjoyed Stan.....he is classic.

Serena: Say Venus, do you sometimes wonder if Daddy is giving us male hormones or something?
Venus: Why do you ask?
Serena: Well, I do get a lot of hair in some pretty strange places.
Venus: Yes, that's true! me too. Where do you get hairs growing, Serena?
Serena: My balls!

An old joke Rooi, but still a good one! Serena has more muscle than Caster Semenya ever had....just saying!
