"In 2013 we plan on 'bringing it home' - which has been the design inspiration behind the new jersey. While a lot of rugby jerseys have become reserved for Saturday afternoons, the new Stormers jersey just oozes style and character," says GP Sangiorgio, the Category Manager for Team Sports at adidas South Africa.

The most noticeable change is the colour and striping execution - bringing the Stormers and Province brands closer to each other.( Ah the legendary blue and white hoops!)

"We've gradually moved away from a stack of colours, to a black and storm inspired jersey and now into a more traditional striped royal blue, bringing home the Province and Stormers brands," adds Sangiorgio.

The new kit also comes with the climacool technology - which is a combination of open mesh fabrics and fibres which serve as ventilation channels in key parts of the jersey - under the arms, across the chest, etc. This technology keeps cool air flowing in with heat and sweat flowing out. "It allows our athletes to stay cool, dry and comfortable at the highest level," adds Sangiorgio.

The new replica kit is available from Friday at major sports retailers and adidas stores at the recommended retail price of R699.

What more could all the closet Stormers fans (including Brycy, hakwa, saSue etc) want one asks. Cheap for such a big brand name article!

I also thought it would have health benefits for hot heads like snapster and jallopy.  The Jersey would help keep them a bit cooler when they are in difficulty on the board and are being corrected by those who know the game etc. Bwahahahahahha

Beeno

Sorry to disappoint you - I prefer a Sharks jersey.   Allow me to say that the Stormers jersey may end up in the hall of Shame.   LOL

Last I looked we topped the log. Were the league winners (no trophy given fo this preeminent feat unfortunately) and also SA Conference winners. WP won the Currie Cup. What didnt we win is more the question.

The truth is they will be going at a premuim and snapped up by the many WP/Stormer supporters keeping the economy going in other parts of the country! Hahhahahhahahaha

Perhaps ED could get us all a bulk discount!!

Very sensible to see the full emergence of Province in the Super 15. For the well educated, the stripes can now indicate your university, your province and your Super team.

699 rand is roughly $78 australian dollars, that is so freaking cheap its not funny, i was literally paying $150 for a jersey here at the stores, but i might have to start shopping online now and taking advantage of the strong australian dollar.

in saying that im still not pretentious enough to spend 699 rand on toilet paper just because it has blue hoops, LMAO, :ob

Beeno, the only SA franchise who can make the call "Bring it home" is the Bulls.

You can't bring home something that's NEVER been there!!!!!!

Moooola while you may enjoy living in the past we look to the future. A future that looks not quite as bright without Bryan Habana but bright nevertheless.

As to your logic it is of course way out. I can go to a motor dealer and bring home a new car. Got it moola. (The key here is to understand the new car had not been in my home before. Getting a glimmer moooola?)

What do they teach these oaks in nz!!  No wonder we are having such difficulty bringing them up to speed rugbywise. Bwahahahahaha shouldnt really use any word with wise in it when dealing with Kiwis!

Beeno, you know very well that "bringing it home" in rugby/sporting parlance indicates that you've won the trophy on a prior occasion.

I'd lock up that new car too if I was you; that's if it hasn't already been taken off you at the first set of traffic lights at gunpoint while you were "bringing it home"!

moodaa

Crime is indeed a problem in SA - but it is not really as bad as you seems to think.   It is very bad in certain cities and areas within cities - but outside of those hotspots it is not much more than you encounter in cities in other countries.   Specific types of crime has some political connotations as well - like farm murders for instance.   Ultimately - the main objective is to be aware of the crime situation and avoid risks as far as possible.

There is a major problem in SA as well - the open border scenario allows in millions of foreigners whose major occupation are to commit crimes.   The drug trade is heavily managed by Nigerian drug lords - farm murders often by Zimbabweans - where the official Government policy is to eliminate all White farmers on a racial basis and where murder is a tool frequently used by ZANU-PF - Mugabe's party)  , etc.

The problem is also the level of corruption in the Police Service - very high indeed and some Policemen have been found to be involved in violent crime,   The Police are fighting hard to eliminate the problem and there is a slow - but gradual downturn in crime generally.      There are huge problems still  and it should take time to eliminate those.

I am at least more optimitic now than I was five years ago - although there is one major problem getting worse and that is political corruption - which over the past five years took a turn for the worse.   That actually means consistent  theft of Government Funds allocated for improved service delivery - especially to the poor - and it is costing the ANC support losses amongst the poor and on all other levels of society.   That may result in further action too -  like those taken against Malema.

I hope the above gives people more insight in the crime situation in SA .   I actually was very reluctant to contibute anything on this score - since this is a rugby forum site - not a political or other affairs one.

Mike the only cause for optimism would be if the corrupt anc gets a beating at the polls. we can never move ahead with these blood suckers running things. We need a return to law with all being subject to it. As Prof Habib of Wits said - you can have al l the policies, ethics committees etc but who is going to dea lwith corruption at the higher eschelons of government? That takes political will - but its not there because the top is corrupt.

As for this being a rugby site etc well of course rugby will always be the main topic but a thread of interest on another subject especially in a quiet period like this surely is not amiss.
