The South African Rugby Union (SARU) on Friday confirmed the home venues for the 2015 Rugby Championship.

The Springboks will play New Zealand at Emirates Airline Park (formerly Ellis Park), Johannesburg, on Saturday, 25 July and Argentina at Growthpoint Kings Park, Durban, on Saturday, 8 August.

The schedule was amended as a result of the condensing of the Rugby Championship competition to three rounds because of the Rugby World Cup, which begins in mid-September.

Durban was due to host the Springboks' home match against Australia - which was one of the matches to be removed from the schedule.

It will now receive the visiting Pumas while Western Province, which was due to host that Test, will be the venue for a match against a World XV on either 22 or 29 August.

The match against New Zealand was always scheduled to be held in Johannesburg. Ellis park was also the venue where the Springboks faced the All Blacks in 2013 and 2014.

SARU CEO Jurie Roux said that the recent practice of hosting New Zealand only at Johannesburg venues had been reviewed during the allocation process.

"Member unions have made a case for hosting the draw-card of a Springbok v All Blacks match at their venue and we have heard them," he said.

"In the next round of allocations from 2016 onwards that fixture will be moving around the country including to coastal unions such as Western Province and the Sharks."

Springbok fixtures 2015:

Saturday 18 July: Australia v South Africa - Suncorp Stadium, Brisbane (Rugby Championship)
Saturday 25 July: South Africa v New Zealand - Ellis Park, Johannesburg (Rugby Championship)
Saturday 8 August: South Africa v Argentina - Kings Park, Durban (Rugby Championship)
Saturday 15 August: Argentina v South Africa - Venue TBC (Test)
Saturday 22 or 29 August: South Africa v World XV - Newlands, Cape Town (Friendly)
Saturday 19 September: South Africa v Japan - Brighton (Rugby World Cup)
Saturday 26 September: South Africa v Samoa - Birmingham (Rugby World Cup)
Saturday 3 October: South Africa v Scotland - Newcastle (Rugby World Cup)
Saturday 7 October: South Africa v USA - London (Rugby World Cup)

Is there any way to ensure a Neutral Unbiased Stadium TV Producer/Broadcaster at the Ellis Park Stadium? We do not want a repeat of the embarrassing turn of events where we saw the Boks captain get on his knees and shamefully beg that infamous idiotic NH ref for a penalty. Maybe next year whoever is Boks captain at Ellis Park can show abit more class.

Hacked waaaugh wee messam deserved at the very least a yellow for that disgusting and very dangerous tackle on Burger. That Jean had to complain to the ref is just typical as to how transgression against the Boks are ignored by nz ref in pocket types.
Secondly hacjed waaaugh please dont mention the esteemed and highly regarded Jean de Villiers in the same breath as mcheat!  The latter oak has no class whatsoever.
Beeno clarifiying matters for unhinged kbbs!

Brycy we rely on great talent unmatched anywhere. Unfortunately, many things wrong with our rugby but it gives the wee abs a chance. That chance will evapor ate if we get our house in order.

There's one big thing wrong with your rugby Hasbeeno if you look at the above link,12 out of 52 SA schoolboys who were drug tested returned positive tests!!Not a good look and something we have known about for some time. E.G Itsabutt and Spies are just 2 that spring to mind!!

Squeaky clean Draad!! Realistically though it will go on in NZ as well but we don't produce these muscle bound behemoths like SA does. Seems so obvious that muscle growth like that has not come about naturally. It doesn't help that idiots like Bobby Skinstad say live on TV things like "how would you like tickets to that gun show?". That's just encouraging SA kids to get bigger by fair means or foul in my opinion.

Moolaa? some of our kids are naturally big. Must be some of the Viking and Barbarian blood. If you look at the giys testing positive, you would see it's normally the smaller guys doing it in the hope of competing with the larger lads.

They got tested positive and have been given the consequences.
I'd also question the source of your information as it's Kiwi based and is undoubtedly bias in one way or another.

Another thing to consider is the fact that something simple like flu meds etc are off limmits, for a lot of schoolboys that are not pro athletes yet, it is easy to get busted without them attempting to cheat. Makes it all the more suspicious that NZ is so "clean"

I think it`s the same that Moola posted,...... whatever, here's what the article says:

"Ten rugby players in England were banned because of drug use this year, with most of them young players, and a report out of South Africa showed that, out of 52 schoolboy rugby players tested in the Republic, 12 returned positive tests for anabolic steroids."

12 out of 52!!!
that's 23%, almost one in 4
It sholud be something to be worried about

Looks like the journo is also trolling. "A report out of South Africa"?????Done by whom? 52 boys tested where, what and by whom?  And I see they tested a whole of 70 boys in NZ. This is not a good article at all.

JW take away RAW wins and the Boks would be well ahead. Not only us but think of England. They would be 3-1 ahead on this years performances. Please do not get confused by the mythical record of the wee abs JW. How about last years win against ireland etc etc.

Moolaa, I'm  sure you did well, but why do you not recognise the fact that no sources were mentiond in making such a controversial  claim. Is it because it actually suits your agenda and your unsubstantiated beliefs?

First of all, the quotes are taken from a newspaper not a review (scientific or of another kind) where the author MUST put his/her sources and usually do this putting numbers into brackets and the correspondient explanation in the bottom of the article.
This method is not used in newspaper articles and usuually sources are not mentioned, only sometimes sources are mentioned inside the article but this doesn't mean that an article that doesn't mention the sources is an invalid one (unlike the revies).
This is just another excuse to avoid discussing the problem.

Luckily the SA authorities have taken this seriously ( not like the saffa posters here) and are taking steps to prevent all this setting up random tests all over the country for schoolboys.
It seems that untill the moment the tests were by nomination (by consent of nominated players) and in KwaZulu-Natal province.

http://rugbymatters.co.za/index.php/2014/11/06/sa-school-rugby-random-steroid-testing-in-2015/

Mr. Been,
even discussing this kind of matters (schoolboys using drugs) you have to come with your usual xenophobic BS?
This is not about South Africa against the rest of the world

Basque, we take it seriously, but journo's  have to at least elaborate on their sources to maintain some credibility. There are no way to put some context of this article without it. I for one would like to test the allegations, but it seems you are also happy to take some "facts" on face value. What happens if a Saffa journo writes a similar piece on N Z? Oh! the outcry!Has journalistc standards taken such a dip in NZ that you eat up everything the press dishes up?

here you have another article, in this case from a saffa newspaper of 2011:

School rugby hit by steroid scandal

PREGA GOVENDER | 30 mayo, 2011 06:010 Comments The King Edward VII first rugby team being congratulated by their schoolmates yesterday after thrashing Westville Boys' High 21-10. None of the players pictured is connected to the steroids controversy Picture: JACKIE CLAUSEN

A shocking survey has revealed that schoolboy rugby players are using illegal anabolic steroids.

This follows tests conducted on pupils at 18 of the country's top schools in which 21 out of 130 pupils - or roughly one in six - tested positive for a variety of illegal steroids .

One school has now set aside R100000 for more tests while a doctor said he was treating at least 12 schoolboys a month to wean them off steroids.

In a recent newsletter, Michaelhouse principal Guy Pearson told parents of concerns about "the size of schoolboys who we tend to come up against in our fixtures and festivals".

Commissioned independently by various schools, Johannesburg company Drug Detection International sent urine samples for analysis to a forensic laboratory in the US. They found positive results for:

  • Two pupils of St Albans, Pretoria;
  • Three pupils of King Edward VII in Johannesburg; and
  • Found that one boy from St John's in Johannesburg had twice the amount of testosterone levels for a teenager his age.

Fifteen of the other pupils who tested positive were from four private schools in Gauteng and KwaZulu-Natal.

At least 12 of these pupils were caught with banned steroids in their possession
(continues.......)

if someone want to read the whole article:

http://www.timeslive.co.za/sport/rugby/2011/05/30/school-rugby-hit-by-steroid-scandal

There's no source here neither but I don't think that no one could have doubts about it.
True that it's a lot more detailed article.... but no source

In these tests 3 years ago there were 21 from 130 (16%). It seems that things have gone worst.
And having these antecedents it's not so rare to trust on what the other article says.

Thanks for the article. Yes, no source but no casual mention of a "report" either. At least we are actually doing something to prevent it.
BTW, 40% of those testing positive do not play sport, and of the 60% that does, some are oarsmen, so the % of rugby players testing positive are way less than 16%. Just the same, it's serious enough and must be stamped out. I still say Paul is bullshitting in his article.

Steroid use must be wide spread as even in my gym there are some guys who over night develop sculptured bodies while the rest of us are plodding along. Even my trainer told me you just have to know what doctor to talk to. I got the impression he had some names.
