About out backline line up for Saturday except for Reinach at 9?

I am buzzing to see this combo in action and given the board hate for DA I would have thought there would be cries of joy on here

It’s loaded with creativity from 10 to 15, if they get it right they could create havoc

We so need them to get it right as they represent the future

But I seem the only one excited by the prospect of 10. Sacha 12. Willemse 13. Moodie 15. Fassi with Kolbe and Hooker out wide

Had they been given the opportunity, of which there have been numerous this season, to start together and get used to playing together, then I'd be excited.

As it stands, Hooker has had all of 30(plus minus) minutes this season. Sacha and Reinach have hardly any game together. Willemse and Moodie...I don't believe they've plaid a single minute as a combination for the Boks this season.

So what exactly are you excited about? Oh, wait, you place little to no value on probably the money important thing in rugby...SYNERGY!

I'd like them to win but I wouldn't be surprised if they get slaughtered.

Rassie needs some scapegoats for coming back from Mordor with no wins.

If they do win it'll be on the back of sheer talent and not because they've been given a fair shake by Sauron.

To me, it honestly feels like he's sabotaging them. Knowing they'll get wrecked and then it gives him an excuse to stick with the old boys for the rest of the year.

Lets hope I'm wrong.

I am excited to see what the backline can deliver on attack. I have some concerns about defence with all the new combinations, especially if the All Blacks dominate the breakdown again.

Ja, Dave this is the backline they should have chosen way back when we played the BaaBaas, but instead we had a hundred different combo's. Reinach and Manie, Crappies and Sasha, AE and Moodie and now he finally selects the team he should have.

He is pulling another Rassie special and throwing the team to the lions and say sink or swim and no regard to how the team will bond over several games.

We see how well Australia is doing with a very you team but the only difference is they had three years together now and had to get rid of Eddie.

It was touch or go whether they would be competitive against the BIL. If that team had 4 more games together they could have take the series.

Where as our guys aren't battled hardened.

Then, he expects them to throw the ball around in poor conditions in NZ which none of these players are used to.

On top of that, we can seem to great a base, poor ricks, atrocious line outs and the refs don't seem to care about the scrum anymore. When we do catch the ball on our throws, we can't seem to mall. Again players hanging on has nerfed the maul.

So how is he going to unleash this backline.

I think Willemse and Sasha had like two games together at the Stormers.

Willemse is not the player you want at 12. He will just try and step players and then throw loose passes. It works at the stormers as he has more time, but it doesn't work in test matches.

So I am definitely not excited, more watching with eyes wide shut

Loving all the negativity

I totally get the lack of time together, the lack of synergy and the fact that the likes of Willemse and Fassi are not in the greatest of form - nor are Sacha and Moodie for that matter

But let’s face it, nothing Rassie does makes sense - why Thomas ahead of Wilco, Reinach ahead of Faf if it’s going to be an experienced 9, why Nortje, why v Staaden, why Eben and RG never starting together, 4 scrumhalves in the WC squad

None of it makes sense but he is the best coach we have ever had and he has the record to prove it. So we have to trust that we are going to benefit from seeing this backline in action

Better late than never, I say - I for one would not have been excited had it been DA, Kriel and Willie again or Mapimpi thrown in for good measure

It’s not ideal circumstances for these backs to showcase their skills but I’m still excited by the prospect of what if…….

Cant fucking wait

It’s either all newbies or old greybeards. It’s either box kick forever or run the ball. Although hold on we only run the ball when we aren’t serious about winning or we don’t rate the opposition. Which was the case with oz until they stuffed it down our throats.

Im always excited to see Sacha play and Hooker is the kind of sensible kid who could have a great test career. And no the last AB try wasn’t his fault

Moody must be confused by now as to where his future lies. A Hooker/Moody center combination vs Italy would have been a good idea.

But mostly I’m less excited because this doesn’t feel like the contest last week. More like Dr Lucky giving up

We may still win against this sub standard AB team but not because we have given it our best shot

That certainly doesn’t excite me..no true Bok fans should buy that

What I like most about this backline is that Rassie is at least looking at the idea of 10. Sacha 12. Willemse 13. Moodie

It’s my call and exactly what I would have done but yes, some time back

This is the future with some obvious variants like Hooker, Julius etc but man it’s exciting if invested in - this time next year this type of backline will be ripping sides to shreds

I just listened to Diane talk at the press conference alongside Hooker.

They asked Hooker about nerves and inexperience, he downplayed it.

Then they ask Duane something similar and I'll paraphrase his response;

"It's not often you get to test guys in this type of pressure situation so it will be nice to see who holds is hand up and is the type of player we want to walk the road to the World Cup with."

I mean, is it just me or is that a tad unfair?

Geez!

It’s the reality at that level

One would swear Sacha, Willemse, Moodie and Fassi were on debuts this Saturday

I just hope they use them. We know we can create platforms for the backs - we did so plenty of times on Saturday but the ball always stops at 10 or 12 or the scrumhalf slips of the flyhalf slips with Willie the only player with any vision.

I'm looking forward to seeing these guys together, not even in the mood to say "with reservation". I hope they have a ball out there and smack some botty. Hope the conditions are better too, I hate soggy slippery games.

The reality at test level is that you shouldn't put young teams into crazy situations with hardly any time together.

This is one of those situations where you just spit out some jargon and pretends its logic.

Make no mistake, I'd love to see them rip the ABs up.

I'm just worried about the consequences if they don't.

There is no winning - put them in against the Italian B side and they kick arse everyone would say they were playing against nobodies

Im just glad we get to see them at all as I did not see it coming. Good on Rassie for seeing what the backline should look like moving forward, more so having Willemse at 12 which is where he should be deployed

Now if only we had Williams at 9, Wilco at 3 and Eben and RG at lock to make it an even better side

Moodie has done us proud at 13 for the Boks. I do hope these guys can go out and play their game and stick it to the kiwis.

Maybe Rassie do have a plan. For the regulars and the oldies he is saying, here are the next guys, can you keep up. For the youngsters he is going, this is your chance.

We still have kolbe and Willemse that are both close to 50 caps. So they should have the metal. Reinach might not be a Williams but can control the game from the base.

You are right we should be positive, but I hate it when Rassie does this. Really wanted to see this backline earlier.
