Amla's dismissal and reprieves

That trigger movement is what got him out again today. If any of you watch the replay take note of where his front foot is. He's playing a forward defensive, yet his front heel is only a foot outside tye crease. Had he a good stride in, that ball wouldn't have beaten him. Not sticking to my guns for the sake of sticking to em. I really think his technique is letting him down. He got a hundred today, but just like his 200 the other day, it was very far from chanceless. And every time, it's poor footwork that is the cause. He takes two steps in his trigger movement, and the third step, the one that counts, is way to uncertain. Actually if anyone does watch the highlights. Compare Bavuma's foot movement to Amla's. It's a different universe. He's got some shots Mr Bavuma. Looks like quality.

 Geez if Amla got any worse his test average might drop below fifty!

I dont think he's bad Moz. Just that everyone was blaming the captaincy for.his poor form. I think his technique had more to do with it than his responsibilities. Of course, it's just my opinion

 He has always had technique issues....in the early days he brought his bat in from outside very noticeably. But he has a brilliant eye, and steel wrists, so he can flick the ball away very late. In cricket handsome is as handsome does.

Yeah Moz. In life though, wrists tighten and reflexes slow. He needs to make better use of his feet. He can't rely on fast hands anymore. Father time is a cruel master. Still he is one of the best we've ever had. In my book, CC and Beeno will love this, he's probably my favorite. Great attitude, scores quickly without being ridiculous and he has been very dependable. Probably our best player of spin. Really though Moz, i think De ?? is gonna surprise you in the next few years. Hehe i know how you hate the noobs :)

 Plum...good observation mate...You're spot on...bad habits/technique die hard...obviously he must know this and needs to work on this...in some ways it's like golf when a flaw sets in it needs addressing and work to get right...such a pity when a player is so talented...you obviously understand this game well...where did you play your cricket?
