The following from News 24:
"The Springbok emblem could be removed from the national rugby team's jersey if a member of the country's parliament has his way.

ANC member of parliament Strike Ralegoma asked for the Springbok's removal during Tuesday's meeting of South Africa's parliamentary portfolio committee on sport and recreation.

"For successful transformation, all national teams must play with a single emblem," said Ralegoma.

"The Protea is used by all other sports as the emblem, but there is SARU that will use the Springbok.

"It is important that we have a single logo."

The emblem appears on the right-hand side of the Bok jersey in Tests while the Protea is on the left. During a Rugby World Cup tournament the Bok moves to the sleeve to accommodate the World Cup logo.

Ralegoma also criticised the slow pace of transformation in South African rugby and told the South African Rugby Union leadership there would be consequences if the game doesn't transform quicker.

SARU were also taken to task about the lack of women in its leadership."

The Zuma ANC wants to ruin the game of rugby the same way as they ran down the country as a whole.   If they want to select the team - then by all means they should remove the logo and call the team the Proteas designated to go down drastically as a national team representing the country.

It will serve the good name of the Springboks of the past well to be remembered as great players - not associated with the rubbish to be expected from the future if the ANC ideas kick in.

I read this article CleverMike but decided not to post it as you guys are suffering enough under the "transformation " goals.
Maybe changing the emblem would serve as the marker between the old Bok tradition and the new one that will now start. That's the only positive thing I can say about it.

 I'm all for it.
The Bok is dead ... has been for many a year ... it's time to set it aside ... and hold onto the memory of what once was.
The Bok emblem has been tarnished enough.
Hope you are successful, Mr Ralegoma.

CC is right, we no longer have a Bok side. Prior to isolation the Boks were unquestionably the best side in rugby history.
Lets remember that.

The only reason the Boks get into the media is because they are still regarded as a team of international standard.

Unlike Bafana, Bafana, which is a joke in bad taste. If the Boks played anything like Bafana- the politicians could not care less. They are intent on destroying everything in the name of transformation.
Transformation is really about a minority using this as a means to empower them individually. They can't give a crap about the majority.
Watching Zuma . he recently said that Africa is the biggest content in the world "not even separated by a river"). Is he comparing to the river in North America vs South America?

It is time for South Africa to move on from these historical freedom fighters who have already been rewarded over and over.

Look in a way they h ave a point. For years people of colour couldn't play under the Bok emblem....so the politicians see it as capitulation. I can understand initially not wanting the symbol, much as Mandela never wanted to stay in Groote Schuur. But we have now been playing for 20 years with mixed race teams and the Bok on the jersey,  so now it feels like spite. It needed to be done immediately or not at all....and when Mandela embraced the symbol, that should have been the end of it.

Beautifully put.
The "least capable to lead" are forcing their "least capable to produce" upon the best capable to run any and everything in the country successfully.
To think that there are many like Comrade Mike who support and have in fact joined hands with these "least capables" ... all in view of self gain ... self enrichment ... self advancement.
I guess integrity is no longer a part of this society.

‘Changing Bok emblem not ANC policy’

Cape Town - The ANC has distanced itself from remarks allegedly made by ANC MP Strike Ralegoma calling for the Springbok emblem to be changed.

Ralegoma, who is also a member of the portfolio committee on sports and recreation, reportedly asked for the emblem of the national rugby team to be changed during a committee meeting on Tuesday.

“For successful transformation, all national teams must play with a single emblem,” Ralegoma was quoted as saying.

“The Protea is used by all other sports as the emblem, but there is Saru that will use the Springbok.

“It is important that we have a single logo.”

ANC national spokesperson Zizi Kodwa said in statement on Wednesday that Ralegoma’s “remarks are not derived from a policy position of the ANC”.

SA is peculiar in that it happened after some excellent men had consumed it all.

The excellent men bring with themselves  ineptocracy. Ineptocracy is what expects anyone living in a world led by the excellent men.

When you keep thinking that there is superiority in consuming harder, faster, and bigger, down the road, you turn out unable to keep up increasing the rate in consumption, the resources are gone.

To be able of consuming resources, you must have resources to consume. End of the day.

Countries all around the world are experiencing the ineptocracy thing.

They monopolize the political side but the resources are less and less there. They have the will but the means are gone. They are gone because they applied their will to consume faster, bigger and harder.

@Traditionalist. Stop speaking in riddles. Can you say what you mean without all the waffle?
Other countries are not perfect- but at least they have leaders with an education that is better than a 10-year-old child.
Lots of countries are progressing- but this is not the case in Africa in most cases- where the leaders are totally inept- and only worried about controlling the diminishing power.
Look not further than Mugabe- he latest installment is to pay former white landowners- to do the farming so that someone who once knew a freedom fighter can get the money for doing nothing. If the land is going to be reallocated - surely give it to other farmers- not some claim to fame former freedom fighter- who is now just seeking personal reward- with no interest on the actual running of the farm.

"The "least capable to lead" are forcing their "least capable to produce" upon the best capable to run any and everything in the country successfully."

If only... Not the case. The excellent men's idea of successfully running something is to cause the depletion of the resources. The main thing they produce is the decrease in resources.

Rugby did not make SA richer. It made it poorer. It worked toward the resources going down.

The ANC, the SA government are all excellent men. They are striving to keep up rugby, not abolishing it.

It wont be not that bad if this was contained to SA. But the resources are less and less there, so SA needs to turn abroad to keep consuming resources through things like rugby.

"Stop speaking in riddles. Can you say what you mean without all the waffle?"
Riddles? Waffle?

It is plain: consuming faster, harder and bigger.

One example: rugby. Rugby did not make SA richer. It made it poorer.

"Other countries are not perfect- but at least they have leaders with an education that is better than a 10-year-old child. "

Is our children learning? What is it? The education of a 5 year old? Yet the man who stated that did two terms.

Once again, making a special case of something that is not.

Zuma is no different from the others.

"Lots of countries are progressing"
Progressing toward what? The whole world is progressing toward  the depletion of resources. The trend set by the excellent men is not sustainable. You cant consume faster, bigger, harder every day that passes.

"Look not further than Mugabe- he latest installment is to pay former white landowners- to do the farming so that someone who once knew a freedom fighter can get the money for doing nothing. If the land is going to be reallocated - surely give it to other farmers- not some claim to fame former freedom fighter- who is now just seeking personal reward- with no interest on the actual running of the farm."

What farmers? The excellent men are destroyers. They destroyed the farmers who were there before.

What next? redistributing the grass land and the buffalo herds in the US to Indians who live off hunting muffalos? They were destroyed.

It's both the funniest and saddest thing ever. SB's Video, the stupid emblem argument is just spite. - Draad. Exactly.

Nice post Cera. Spot on.

The irony of the whole thing is that the Springbok is seen as an apartheid symbol, but the idiots do not realise that the Protea they prefer is an even bigger apartheid symbol because the King Protea was proclaimed as recently as about 1977 as the National flower of SA - right when apartheid was at its most intense. Opposed to this is the Springbok emblem which was accepted as a logo for rugby way back in 1906 - more than 40 years before apartheid became official policy.

Tradiotionalist: Agree with Draad and "The excellent men's idea of successfully running something is to cause the depletion of the resources. The main thing they produce is the decrease in resources" is untrue. Just look at what was achieved by Singapore, a country with no resources and then compare it to an African country of similar size and population with large resources - Ghana would be a good case study.

The boards spineless comb-over opposes a system he has no knowledge of.
As is usual, he simply echoes the thoughts and opinions of others.
His abusive mommy took him and fled to another man's land ... and they made it their own ... all in support of the oppressed black man.
Funny though that after the oppressed black man was given the country on a platter ... and their so called freedom ... ol Comb-Over and his abusive mommy never returned to the land of their birth.
Why is that, Comb-over?
Does it perhaps have something to do with being the rape capital of the world ... or that we now have raw sewage flowing down the sides of some city streets ... or perhaps that the crime and murder rate has sky rocketed 1000 fold?
Is it perhaps because the white man now finds himself as the oppressed ... hmmm ?? ... or that the work place is reserved for those with a darker complexion ... or that the high standard of education was done away with so that the least capable can flood the market with additional incompetence, claiming to be educated?
Is that why you've never returned "home" ... ?
Pray tell!!
You my dear Comb-Over are no more than a spineless loud mouth spouting from afar ... safe and sound ... there where the previously oppressed can do you no harm.

A little bit of advice, you spineless pr!ck ... stay there ... this land will swallow you whole.
A stupid system, you say??
South Africa prospered under the oppressive system of Apartheid.
It was a financial powerhouse ... punching way above it's weight ... with a currency competing with the best and strongest globally.
1/1 with the US$ ... 2/1 with British Sterling.

We were respected globally as a force to be reckoned with.
The crime rate was non existent ... with tourists flooding in every day.
We had clean water to drink ... not three parts floaters to every glass full as it is now ...
A woman could walk safely to the shop and back in the dead of night, without fear.
You are Australian, Comb-Over ... do not refer to yourself as a South African ... EVER!!!
Kapeesh???

"Traditionalist. Your tradition sucks and your reasoning is flawed and you know it. GFY!"
No, I dont. Because it is not.

"The good men thing can be debated, but Mugabe destroying the economy is a closed case. Unless that is considered good. "

The excellent men thing can not be debated (that is why it is never debated)

Mugabe destroying the economy? That is the normal result of the excellent men 's approach.

Resources are limited and when you set as a goal to consume them harder, faster and bigger, at the end of the day, the economy related to those resources is destroyed.

When an area is rich in gold (as an example) and that the measure of success is set by the rate at which it will be mined out, once it is mined out, the economy of gold mining is destroyed.

It cant be debated. It can be denied, but not debated.

Rugby did not make SA richer, it has been helping though in the process of consuming  faster, harder and bigger.

Within SA, the resources are gone. It is going to be harder and harder to sustain the activity of rugby... Unless SA turns abroad.

After all, few countries play rugby in Africa and they still have some resources.

The introduction of a few black players serve that purpose.

OK Traditionalist, here goes:
"Excellent men" sounds like The Powers That Be, AKA the Cabal, Illuminati, Khazarian Mafia, etc? The people with power that rules the world?

"Integrity? The same integrity as the integrity governing the excellent men is at work.
The government in SA are all excellent men. -  1. No they are not, some of them are just plain pirates and crooks, some are not.

The quote, with no surprise, focuses on the political side of things without taking into account any other factors. They can not do that.

The first country in history to apply affirmative action toward the majority whereas having all the political power? That is giving to copy cats too much credit.

The United States of America? The other british colonies like Australia, New Zealand or Canada?
All of them applied an affirmative action plan toward the majority while having the monopoly of political action.

Taking from the others? Of course, they are doing that, just like the other excellent men did in the US, Canada, Australia etc
This whole transformation targets thing is a scheme to keep doing that... abroad as the previous form in government would disqualify them to keep doing that.

The main difference from the other cases is the level of wealth they can plan to take from.

In SA, this is happening after some other excellent men were in action.

In the Americas, Oceania, none of the  minorities that were taken from were excellent men. So the level of wealth was something else for sure.
2.That is not the issue at all. The issue is that the majority of the populace (90%), with all the political power see the need to protect themselves from the minority (10%) with no political power. The majority discriminates against the minority. The Minority must carry the majority. The ratio is just too big to be sustainable. In the rest of the world, the majority put a similar system in place to help the minority - The majority helps the minority by their own choice. - Spot the difference?
In SA, the consumption was performed, the resources are gone. Therefore the omission in the quote that focuses on the political side of things. - 3.There are plenty of resources left, if they steal les and divide better there is enough for all.
SA is not peculiar in the plan. They are following the path of the excellent men.
SA is peculiar in that it happened after some excellent men had consumed it all.

The excellent men bring with themselves  ineptocracy. Ineptocracy is what expects anyone living in a world led by the excellent men.

To be able of consuming resources, you must have resources to consume. End of the day.

4. Ever heard of sustained development? Resources can be recycled and replenished."

5. They monopolize the political side but the resources are less and less there. They have the will but the means are gone. They are gone because they applied their will to consume faster, bigger and harder."
Rugby has got nothing to do with the consumption of resources. Yes, it creates income, but that's not the reason for the interference. The transformation of SA rugby and the idiotic governmental threatening of the Bok emblem have nothing to do with anything but spite towards the white people of SA. The people that's driving this does  not even care about the rest of the populace who also holds the Bok dear. Petty vindictiveness by a small minority...and you seem to be OK with that, hence my GFY. I rarely use profanity and thought twice about using it earlier, but you are obviously not really interested in discussing this topic, you'd rather spam us with vague rhetoric?
