Any European Rugby watchers (Becs, Saffex, etc)

I know Louw has been poor for the boks, but was he this bad for Bath? From what I read and heard from fans, he'd been playing quiet well?

 Personally, I thought they were talking him up a lot at Bath last Season. I didn't think he was doing anything particularly fantastic, when he did play, and they probably were better served selecting another player in his place most of the time. But, he has a hefty wage bill and a huge reputation, so ? 

The best way to describe him for Bath is average to solid......not test standard by any stretch. Very over rated player......a guy playing in the wrong position.....too big for 6, too small for 7.....suited to 8 size wise, but does he have the skill set?
We have far better options than Louw as a loosie......starting with Kolisi who is in the squad.

 I think that MIGHT just have been Saffex almost agreeing with my assessment there ( I did say might  ) 

Alright, thanks Becs and Saffex. I can see the temptation in the Louw pick with him playing in NH conditions for the last few years and having a 'solid' season. BUT, with people like Brussouw causing havock at the breakdown against NZ, how could you leave him out? You also had Jaco Kriel who'd been in hot form for a while now, Coetzee was injured but he should have recovered by now. 

Good luck against Wales Becs, I'll be supporting the Poms in that one. 

 I think a lot of folk agreed with you re Louw. He truly hasn't been that good at all. 

Thanks for supporting us against Wales ! It will be tough, especially now we have lost Joseph ( although I thought he had his worst match for us on Friday night ) Australia certainly didn't look anything special today........

 The Louw, Alberts, Vermeulen combo was the best balanced back row we fielded under Meyer. None too flashy, but they just worked. Unfortunately it's not easy getting the balance right by just replacing one of them if injured. Tharmeulen is obviously missed the most, but Flo is not as bad as some would make him out to be. Off his game now, but Kolisi is not the one to replace him as starter. I have emphapy for the Brussouw fans, but he did not play enough during the last 4 years to really stand a chance. Size will always be an issue.

 The Wallabies were better by far than England and stand a good chance of making the playoffs.  I suspect the All Blacks will win, but do not discount the Irish and South Africa..

 Fiji were far poorer against Australia than they were against England. Australia won but failed to gain a bonus point. 

Who is discounting Australia ? I am not. 

 Tough for Japan to play Scotland just 4 days after their epic encounter against the Boks ...... ditto Fiji who now have to travel to Cardiff to play Wales . Ouch .

 It is difficult. The so-called minnows suffer as they have smaller levels of quality throughout their Squads and a smaller player base if any injuries occur and they have to bring players in. 

Wrong Louw, Alberts and Vermeulen have never been the best balanced trio under Meyer as Louw has never been the best 6 in SA at any point.
Vermeulen has been the only one that has stood out......Alberts had his moments some time back but that is history.
