I have an urgent request that we change the name of our Foxsports Fantasy Rugby Pool Name.
3ku1, please change the official name of this forum's soon-to-be sponsored Pool Name to . . .
The American Secretaries

I do not know whether Luke can change the name - I think he created it . Maybe we should ask all the members to join the American Secretary League individually .
Please note the present League has 14 members already.

Scrap that request. I read up about it and I realized we're in a Head To Head pool with a limit on the number of players. Once created, I don't think you can change the League setting from HtH to Open but 3ku1 is welcome to try.
I've since created a new Open Pool which can handle more players . . . and more importantly, which ranks the players according to their total score (as opposed to a Head-To-Head League which ranks players according to points you score in match-ups against your opponents).
Here's the code of the pool I'd like all forum members to join: SJCNUJ6A. It's called the American Secretaries. If you're wondering where the name comes from, click here, 5th comment down .

I changed the league from private to public. If that's what you mean.

Hi Luke, no that's not what I mean. I don't think changing from private to public makes any difference other than determine whether a password is required.
Let me try to explain . . . when you create a league, you get a once-off option to create that league as a Head-To-Head league or an Open league. Go ahead and click on "Create League" and you'll see the options. You don't have to save that League but just check what the various options are and the defaults.
1st option is Pool Name2nd Option is Privacy Settings (Private or Public - defaulted to Private)3rd Option is Skill Level (Beginner, Intermediate or Expert - defaulted to Beginner)4th Option is League Type (Head to Head or Open - defaulted to Head to Head)5th Option is League Size (Default 14 but you can choose up to 20)There are a few further options but they are all specific to Head to Head leagues.
Now, you'll notice a little info button next to each option. Hover your mouse over the info button next to League Type. This is what it says:
"Head-to-head leagues require an even number of teams and each week you will play against a different team in your league. Open leagues can have any number of teams and rankings are based on total Fantasy points".
I don't know why the default is Head-to-head but I'm assuming when you created Ruckers Forum 1 you just went with the defaults.
The problem we have is that once you create a league, it is created as Head-to-head or Open. There doesn't seem to be any option to change the settings from one to the other. I did try.
The Ruckers forum League which I created is an Open league which is much better suited to our purposes here as it can handle any number of teams and league ranking are based on total score. The scores in your league are based on head-to-head points . . . in other words, if I'm drawn against your team this week and I beat you then I score 2 points. If we draw then we each get a point and then next week I get drawn against someone else. The league is ranked on those head-to-head points, not total Fantasy points.
Hope that explains it. Feel free to check it out yourself and tell me if I'm wrong. More than happy to continue playing in your Head-to-head league as well as the Ruckers Forum league. To address Just Win's concern on another thread, just because you're a member of two pools doesn't mean you're maintaining two teams. Your same Fantasy team is simply represented in two different pools (with two different formats). You can enter more leagues if you like, won't make any difference to your actual team or the amount of effort you have to put in.
Oh and 3ku1, one other thing, the other reason I felt we should start a new league is because Ed has promised us prizes but only on condition that the members of the league are also members of this forum. He obviously wants to build up the forum membership and sponsoring our Fantasy League is a way to do that. That is why anyone eho enters the Ruckers Forum league will also have to provide their www.ruckersforum name and Foxsports team name on here.

Pleasure.

Please note the Open League that I created is now called "Ruckers Forum" as opposed to the Head-to-head League that 3ku1 created which is called "Ruckers Forum 1".

Hope this doesn't cause further confusion.
