People are always talking about the Kings and Sunwolves nort belonging in the Sper Rugby Tournament - but what is really worrisome is what has been happening in the Australian Conference.
Looking at the situation with half the games completed in most cases in the tournament - the situation in the Australian Conference is really bad.   Looking at the present lock in the Australian Conference the situation is as follows:-
1. Rebels       -      22 points2  Brumbies    -      21 points3  Waratahs   -      17 points4  Reds         -        8 points5  Force        -        6 points
Fact is that in Round 10 the Rebels are playing the Blues away from home - making it a 50-50 game for them.   The Brumbies are up against the HIghlanders - also a 50-50 game.   The Waratahs are playing the Stormers away - with a minimal chance of success.  The Reds are playing the Cheetahs - another 50-50 game and the Force is at home to the Bulls - with the Bulls being the favourites in that game.
So we have a case where the chances are good that the Aussie teams have a limited chance of success in the next Round.  If all the teams lose - which is quite possible - the situation is going to get grom bad to worse for them.  Wht is already clear is that they would have one obligatory team in the quarter-finals - with the other 7 teams being from NZ and SA.
