Fascism rising: GOP presidential candidate Donald Trump fans Republican hysteria and America’s growing fear of Muslims after the massacre in Paris.

According to a recent interview, the GOP presidential front runner said he is open to registering U.S. Muslims in a database or giving them special identification identifying their faith, something Nazi Germany did to Jewish citizens leading up to the holocaust (Hitler’s Third Reich required Jews to wear a yellow badge resembling the Star of David).

Yahoo News asked Trump whether the level of tracking he was proposing might require registering Muslims in a database or giving them a form of special identification that noted their religion. Trump said he wouldn’t rule it out:

We’re going to have to — we’re going to have to look at a lot of things very closely. We’re going to have to look at the mosques. We’re going to have to look very, very carefully.

Earlier this week, during Tuesday night’s edition of Hannity on Fox News, Trump argued that authorities should close mosques in order to prevent an attack inside the U.S.

Explaining to Hannity why the U.S. must close mosques, Trump said:

Nobody wants to say this and nobody wants to shut down religious institutions or anything, but you know, you understand it. A lot of people understand it. We’re going to have no choice.

There’s absolutely no choice.

Politico reports that in a string of new radio ads announced Wednesday, Trump and his supporters talk tough about the candidate’s plan to strengthen the military and to defeat the Islamic State. In the new ads, Trump warns against allowing refugees from Syria into the country while pledging to “quickly and decisively bomb the hell out of ISIS.”

The bad new is that Trump’s bellicose flirtations with fascism is working. The Hill reports that according to most of the polls released in the aftermath of the Paris terrorist attacks, Trump has gained political strength.

As for Trump’s over the top anti-Muslim rhetoric, this is nothing new. Trump was calling for the closure of mosques back in October, long before the terrorist attacks in Paris.

Bottom line: Many Republicans are angry, frightened, and dumb. And so far Trump has proven to be a master at manipulating that fear, anger, and stupidity to his own political advantage.

“When fascism comes to America, it will be wrapped in the flag and carrying a cross.”

U.S. NewsThat racist Trump tweet about blacks killing whites isn’t just false — it’s neo-Nazi propaganda Travis Gettys

Donald Trump capped a week that found him flirting with fascism by sharing a blatantly false, racist graphic that apparently originated with a Hitler-admiring neo-Nazi.

The Republican presidential frontrunner tweeted an image Sunday afternoon that claimed 81 percent of white homicide victims are killed by blacks and 97 percent of black homicide victims were killed by other blacks.

The graphic cited the Crime Statistics Bureau in San Francisco as its source — although that does not exist and the statistics are, quite simply, made up.

In reality, the FBI shows that 82 percent of white homicide victims were killed by other white people and 15 percent of white homicide victims were killed by black people, and 91 percent of black homicide victims were killed by other black people.

So where did the image and the bogus statistics come from?

Blogger Charles Johnson, of Little Green Footballs, was unable to determine its source through a Google Image search or tineye.com — but he was able to find the earliest tweet using the graphic.

The account’s avatar is a modified swastika used as the symbol of the neo-Nazi German Faith Movement, and the account profile expresses admiration for Adolf Hitler: “A detester of any kind of sick perverted dildo waving marxism and liberalism,we Should have listened to the Austrian chap with the little moustache.”

The image was posted on the conservative Sexy Patriot account shortly before Trump shared it.

There’s no indication Trump was aware the graphic seems to have originated with a neo-Nazi, but a quick Google search should have revealed the statistics as inaccurate — and its racist suggestions are plainly obvious.

Trump supporters beat up a Black Lives Matter protester Saturday in Birmingham, Alabama, and the GOP candidate said afterward that the man was “so obnoxious and so loud” that “maybe he should have been roughed up.”

The Republican repeated his call to closely monitor or even close down U.S. mosques to fight terrorism, and he refused to rule out creating a database of American Muslims and expressed openness to the possibility of requiring them to carry special ID.

This isn’t the first time Trump has tweeted Nazi propaganda on his official social media account.

Trump shared a campaign graphic, which he later deleted, that included an image of Nazi soldiers taken from a World War II re-enactment.

"Heil Donald Trump - THE ULTIMATE SAVIOR."

That's what Andrew Anglin, publisher of the neo-Nazi website Daily Stormer, had to say in response to Republican presidential hopeful Donald Trump's call for a "total and complete shutdown of Muslims entering the United States."

"Finally: someone speaks sense," Anglin wrote, pasting Trump's new proposal under the headline "Glorious Leader Calls For Complete Ban on All Moslems."

"Make America White Again!" his post concludes.

Anglin is not new to the white supremacy scene. In 2012, he launched a website called Total Fascism, where he also wrote about racist concepts, according to the Southern Poverty Law Center's Hatewatch blog.

Earlier this year, The Daily Stormer endorsed Trump for president. A number of other white supremacist groups have also thrown their support behind the billionaire reality TV star's candidacy.

On Monday, Trump released a proposal on his website calling for a ban on Muslims entering the U.S. The idea was quickly condemned by Democratic presidential candidates and others.

The proposal, via Trump's website:

Donald J. Trump is calling for a total and complete shutdown of Muslims entering the United States until our country's representatives can figure out what is going on. According to Pew Research, among others, there is great hatred towards Americans by large segments of the Muslim population. Most recently, a poll from the Center for Security Policy released data showing "25% of those polled agreed that violence against Americans here in the United States is justified as a part of the global jihad" and 51% of those polled, "agreed that Muslims in America should have the choice of being governed according to Shariah." Shariah authorizes such atrocities as murder against non-believers who won't convert, beheadings and more unthinkable acts that pose great harm to Americans, especially women.

Mr. Trump stated, "Without looking at the various polling data, it is obvious to anybody the hatred is beyond comprehension. Where this hatred comes from and why we will have to determine. Until we are able to determine and understand this problem and the dangerous threat it poses, our country cannot be the victims of horrendous attacks by people that believe only in Jihad, and have no sense of reason or respect for human life. If I win the election for President, we are going to Make America Great Again." - Donald J. Trump
