Best way to watch live WC rugby when in Foreign countries....Irish Pubs

 Sebastian: I used to watch rugby at an Irish bar in Brussels but you are right football always was the priority for the pubs. The fact that I don't drink alcohol was never a problem for me or anyone else for that matter. If I ordered a large glass of orange juice the bar tender was happy as the price was higher than the beer 

yeah there are plenty in Brussels, Dr Win...it's really amazing...Irish drinking habits contaminating the world but the one good spinoff is that when in a foreign land you can find rugby...bar soccer...I don't hate association football although I see it is an enemy of other sports...Mozart probably has the same problem with grid iron, basket ball and baseball...wimpie games imho but Yanks have always been in rebellion. Canada on the otherhand has Ice Hockey and so does Russia which I find very entertaining...fast, aggressive and tough.

One day I sat down  and thought about sport in general...so many activities worldwide that improve our physical bodies, health and strength of character...and each man to his own...nothing wrong with it as long as you a true sportsman and enjoy. Some time back I met Pieter Muller , a Springbok of note and asked about Jeremy Thomson, who went the same school as I did and worked for the same corporate as I did, Jeremy I became casual friends...although younger than me...a really nice guy but Pieter told me he was now into serious cycling/mountain-biking and canoeing...rather different from team sport.

I myself prefer quiet activities now...I love fishing...fly fishing for trout in particular and wing shooting for greywing partridge/francoln...we are all different somewhere along the line but similar in many other ways...Andre Joubert (Juba) loves fishing, so does cricketer Lance Klusener, Lance is also a keen hunter as was the late Hansie Cronje.

Andre Joubert also loved his bicycle...used to see him pedalling around Hillcrest quite often...also saw great jockey David Payne doing the same (now a race horse trainer in Australia).

Soccer however seems to attract a certain different person...I don't hate soccer in fact I enjoy Chelsea and loved the WC soccer in SA despite those vuvazelas

But soccer is a fly in the ointment in europe when you want to watch rugby...something that never happens in NZ...

 During the RWC soccer takes a bit of a backseat.

 
That's why I love the RWC...everything at least takes a pause to acknowledge the finest team game in the world and if Christ does not come in the next 50 years...the most favourite...even Butch James said, his old man Michael was a good and notable soccer player that rugby is the ultimate. James Small also was a talented soccer player so was Herschell Gibbs.

 Gibbs was a usefull rugga 10 as well Alan Donald too. And Schalla went to Maties on a cricket scholarship.
