We are all assured that Krutch is his own man, yet it was José who made the call to replace Pollard for Morné at such a critical point in the game. José took a swipe at Clive Woodward for commenting on this awkward relationship, and José's inability to relinquish power. It seems we know now who is pulling the strings.
Big Call: José or Krutch?
Why form this strange dynamic? This is a very weird era of Bok rugby.
But Krutch has always been the hands-on coach. We have no record of José coaching, just PR stunts and gimmicks. He isn't the worst Bok coach, but he is below average. He has the Boks playing their worst rugby since 2002. RC was abbreviated and not a true measure of anything. The Boks played one good game in the WC. The Lions series was an embarrassment. It does get better than this, but only the plastics who adore mediocrity will soak it up like a pig in muck. Worse WCs than the 2004 England side. The most one-dimensional Bok side in nearly twenty-years.
Actually, Krutch is the one teaching José about defence. José stated himself that there is no greater expert on defensive coaching than Krutch.
So the question is this: Where is the José coaching if the entire spine of the Bok game is directly attributable to Krutch? That's not an opinion, that's a fact. José was supposed to be an ideas man, an expert on attacking, comprehensive rugby. Instead, he is a proponent of backward dinosaur rugby. That's not an opinion, that's a fact. Who is really thriving and living up to their potential? Willie? Pollard? Any of our wings? When reality comes home to rest, you'll be eating egg for the rest of your life.
Were was Nienaber when Rassie won two Currie Cups for Free State Org.
Yes Rassie has taught Nienaber most of what he knows. No shame in that we all get taught.
No more BS please oak.
Thanks
I feel sorry for Nienaber…..if we won yesterday Rassie was a genius….if we lost Nienaber was a dog. Look at the insults Dave is throwing at our winning coach. If nothing else it tells you what a user relationship this is.
In Erasmus’ world everything is about Erasmus, cloaked in corn pone humility.
Erasmus has simply followed the prescription I always suggested, but far too narrowly. We will need to be able to construct some tries in the WC rather than simply reacting to mistakes.
A very limited coach.
Only your twisted mind would think like that - Erasmus and Nienaber work as a team and not as individuals. They normally have been doing it since 2006 and besides that are good friends. A good fried does not stab each other in the back as you implied here.
That is too funny to believe. Meyer fucked up everything he touched and so did Coetzee and you ere always supporting them,. Erasmus and his competent team of coaches did the opposite and took SA from no 76 in the world top number 1 and you talk kak about him. For isnatnce in the case of the Dlamini try what mistakes did the English made.
As to tryscoring it was minimal under Meyer and facts showed it perfectly well. There were more backline tries scored under the Erasmus coaching than the whole team scored under Meyer and Coetzee.. All the experts worldwide admired Erasmus for the way he took a losing side and turned it into WC winners in minim time - you called him a limited coach - what a stupid creature you are.
Well he did make the call to bring on Steyn….I guess that makes him what….the Head Coach? I bet we wouldn’t be hearing about it if he missed one of those kicks though. Nobody needed to know that…it just further humiliates Nienaber, but why would Erasmus care when there is a bit of glory to vacuum up
