Ive been following him for the past 2 seasons. he looks like the real deal.
Very good middle / lower order batsman and a fantastic little leftie who gets good grip and had nice variations.

In that same lions team Dwaine Pretorius looks very good. He's got a good average in first class, list a and twenty20, a good strike rate to boot as well. He balls good medium pace with even more impressive bowling averages.

I am convinced he's our answer to the the all rounder problem, i hope they give the lad a chance

 27 Years old with a first class average of 40.56......not too sure about this one. Father time might conspire against him. Bowling averages are pretty good though.

 Not purely as a batsmen, but for the all rounder spot. He can bat a bit and bowl well. The sort of pace bowling all rounder that could give us some decent balance.
For tests:

1. Elgar2. Cook
3. Amla
4. AB5. Temba6. QDK7. Pretorius? Duminy? 
8. Piedt/Hamer/Tahir9. Rabada10. Steyn11. Morkel

Something like this? That 7 spot is something I think we struggle with, I'd like to see us try some options. And is it harsh on Faf to drop him? maybe but he's not shown anything solid in test cricket for a little while. 

Obviously shuffling the order depending on the options for each position. 

 For sure Proteas are screaming out for a potential world class all-rounder, I'm just looking to the future with his age. Going forward I think at test level Duminy and Faf have to go and to be replaced by younger players. Seems a bit harsh but the team is screaming out for young blood as well and Duminy in particular has been frustrating at a high level. Faf's use by date has also come and gone. Time for a change and that time is now, to delay would be counter-productive.

Remember, you cant replace a player with a less of a player.

I agree, Faf had a terrible time in India, but he has been pretty good the rest of the time. Dont drop a player based on 1 or 2 bad series.
He has scored plenty against Oz, England, India in SA etc....
Based on a crap tour to India is hardly worth him being dropped.

JP is contentious. Its so frustrating as he is an incrdible talent but hasnt delivered consistently.

But again the question... who to replace him with?

 Not my call, Flash.I don't get to see your first class cricket but I would blood younger players with a view to the future.I'm not judging Faf on his India non performance, hell if that was the case then  all of the team should be given the flick but I'm not convinced that he has it in him at test level any longer and neither has Duminy. Selections should be based on best on performance at first class level coupled to potential and youth.
