It was good to finally see some SH rugby. I watched fragments of the game but it felt soooo good.

Awesome array of talent on display & I'm not surprised to see a Blues team with approx 80% of them of Polynesian descent connecting with Tana Umaga in charge. Great depth with Rene Ranger, Ioane & Faumaina on the bench !

Blues took about 10 minutes to get into the game but settled down & looked solid after that. Their talent in the back is clear. The game looks even, you wouldn't know the Highlander were champs & blues were last in NZ.
Sopoaga looks beefs but is playing well (more than the listed 91 kgs.

 5 tries in the first half, some good skill on show especially for the first game of the seas on.

 Always good to see new players like Ioane play with such confidence, taking tap kick, good carries, etc. Ranger is dangerous every time he gets the ball - he still has it.
West is playing well at 10.
Landers try at 71 mins was deserved as Blues were on attack for a long time.
Landers scored a fantastic try from set piece at 77 mins. Conversion good 33 to 31 win 2 mins to play. Quality of rugby beyond season opener. Blues get turnover & burn the clock.
Very good game, worth watching more than once.
