Bok strategy without Jantjies

Every day we hear about the Boks playing a more expansive game. But a key part of the flippy passes and delayed offloads is the skill set of Jantjies. No other Bok option has that skill set. So what do we do with Lambie at 10, a player/position combination that has never ignited back lines. Think back to the 2014 YE tour.

Lambie is a process player, not a player who enjoys ambiguity...so much so that at 10 he struggles with decision making. Unlike Jantjies he has no real model, no individual style of playing flyhalf. 

If we have enough forward dominance, we may be able to still 'expand' against the bog (forgive the pun) ordinary Irish and Stumpkar ....but this delays a full test of the Lions style at Bok level.

 No player under Meyer was allowed to play a game igniting a backline.   However, you said Lambie struggle with decision-making, but then you supported in the past two players totally incapable of taking decisions - the two Steyns - so that is at least an improvement on those two.   
I did not see that deficiency in the game of Lambie on Saturday and in the games he played in France before the start of Super Rugby.  


      

Point well taken Moz. Has to be a consideration for Coetzee.
Perhaps Willie at first receiver more? He would be there on every attacking set piece for me and during phase play. Especially with Lambie more than comfortable at fullback. 
Might be the best of both worlds actually, having Lambie on the tee.

 Lambie would have been the obvious choice at 10. He's a natural flyhalf, a great leader, runs the show with confidence and doesn't crack under pressure.
Injury put the spotlight on Jantjies and if one is really honest, he's not test material.
Pressure is his worst enemy ... he's managed it well this season ... but how difficult is it when playing for a winning team!?
I'm sure Jantjies is breathing a sigh of relief ... and to be quiet honest, so am I.

I do not think it is worthwhile to take Mozart's ramblings on this site seriously.   Remember he hates Lambie with a vengeance because he was in the way of selecting his favourites Fransie Steyn and Morne Steyn as flyhalfs.  Remember his all-out campaign last year for Fat Fransie to be selected as the Springbok flyhalf and for Meyer not consider that craziness was a real let-down for him.
According to Mozart a flyhalf is only there to kick balls away and if that does not happen he is a dead loss.   He has no problem with Burger or another loosie being the stand-in flyhalfs, so I suppose he thinks that the role of a flyhalf can be treated as something of less importance.

 without Jantjies what is going to arise IMO is a problem with the "quota",......... Coetzee was appointed bok coach with the transformation as the first and priority aim,........ he has to begin showing that he 's at least in the way of doing it,....... he needs to select a squad (the 32 sqad but also the matchday 23 and even the starting XV) close to the 50/50 aim for the next WC,....... and this is going to be very difficult without Jantjies

without Jantjies, without any current decent black scrummie (Paige is not playing regularly), without any black lock anywhere near the bests, without any black loosie who can start (Koilisy and Carr could be on the bench but not more)

this leaves the front row, the centers and outside backs as the only options to play 6-7 black players,....... almost all these positions will have to be filled with quota players

at hooker the only black player who could be test material is the King's hooker,..... but this is a crucial position for the team and I would start with an experienced player there (Strauss or BdP),........ so Mtawarira and Nyakane seem like a must to fulfill the quotas

the same for de Allende and Mapoe at centers,...... with 2 of the 3 outside backs there would be 6 black players which is IMO the minimum Coetzee can field,........ even if he's not in top form I would play with Le Roux to help Lambie and for the remaining 2 spots there are Skosan, Ulengo, Gelant, Ismaiel, or even kolbe,........ I don't think Skosan and Kolbe were test material so Ulengo and Gelant could be the choosen,.... but I didn't see much of them playing at SR

 Goosen on the bench ......hahaha....we really need to get to test rugby, the nutters are running the asylum.
