Bok team for Clermont?
New centre pairing? A combination more than three years of age. Why?
We could get away with Jantjies against Australia, but not if we field Damian and Kriel. I don't understand Rassie' obsession with Jantjies. It doesn't inspire any confidence. Pollard is clearly the best 10 in the country.
I'm not keen on Steph at 7.
That's a horrible team.
There are some issues and things you with your lack of Rugby knowledge will never understand. These include -
* Marx seems to need a rest after a rather average display against Argentina in the second test
* Louw was poor in both tests against Argentina and no amount of misleading false inputs by you can change that/. I have a suspicion that Du Toit will in fact play at 8.
* You tried to falsify the performances of Esterhuizen and Am based on what? They were slightly better than they used to be in the last test = but that cannot take away from the fact that they have been the center combination in all other tests lost by the Springboks. Your pet hate against De Allende and Kriel caused you to overlook the deficiencies of Esterhuizen and Am = both in attack and defense..
The one possible selection that I seriously dislike is Jantjies. He was poor in all tests he played in and under pressure he goes to pieces. I think a 50% Pollard is still better than Jantjies,
I think Mostert will vanish from the squad the moment De Jager is fit to play.
Damian offers nothing on attack or defence. Kriel has more to offer, but Am is a smarter player. Kriel is more lively ball in hand. Esterhuizen is by far the better of the 12s.

Oom Mike, they've only been the center combination for two tests against Argentina(50% win/loss) . High Five Kriel and Duh Allende have had 3 years to cement their place and still haven't.
I'm actually going to post a video on Damian's best test this year. I have to see what Clever has to say about that.
Post whatsoever you like - but be careful not to leave out anything.
Esterhuizen was also the inside center in the tests against Wales and the third test against England, Should have said he was in three lost tests and in one wo n by the Springboks
Esterhuizen was one of the stand out performers in that game against Wales which was lost because of case of the Du Preez jips.
Not taking the piss here but what do you see in Damien?
His offloading game has gone, he was stripped of the ball a few times and couldn't keep Mike Brown from scoring from 5 out. Mike Brown ffs, the most inept wing England has played since Chris Pennel.
He's not quick and neither does he create space for others.
I'm not having a go at you but I feel like SA has wasted 4 years with this guy.
I should add that this is all in my opinion.
De Allende was injured and played only one test in 2017 - he and Kriel had ben the center combination twice in 2015 before the WC and then was forced into being the combination after round 2 of the series. They then played a further 5 games in 2015 as a combination/
There were just a total collapse under Coetzee. with combinations changing in virtually ever test. Anyway Kriel played in only one test in 2016
That does not allow for a lot of chances to establish themselves in the team
I still think Kriel os better suited to the fullback position where he can't do as much damage defensively.
At that level everybody should be able to make a tackle and everyone can. It's reading the attack and decision making that lets our backs down.
Maybe Marx picked up a niggle in the 2nd Arg test.
I get the feeling this is the sacrificial lamb springbok side where anything else but a nilling is a win.
Happy to be wrong on this though.
Coming from, the guy that said Fat Fransie's stats do not reflect his real value in the team - to cover for the desperately poor performances of Steyn since 2012. After all Steyn was described by a respected previous coach as no center at all.
Would rather have JJ in the team than Steyn. Same with the useless De Jongh still supported by this village idiot is a real joke.
When last did we have a winning center pair?
Kriel is not a choice I would make, but at least he manages to get things right from time to time.
Am on the other hands is completely out of his depth. Totally non effective defensively. Doesn't have a creative bone in his body and is about as useless on attack as JJ Engelbrecht was. He's no more than a second rate club player and only made the cut because of Rassies commitment to advancing the undeserved folk of this country.
Damien De Allende is another one that I would not consider, however he has had some very good moments at test level. If and when he gets it right, he really gets it right. That to me is a far better option than the utterly useless Esterhuizen; who has shown us that he's not able to make the step up to the test arena.
De Allende qui te frankly offers much more.
None of our centers would make the AB side that's how bloody useless they are, AM and Ester are Currie Cup players and De Allende is probably a franchise player.
Please convince me I'm wrong.
Am hasn't convinced me either. Big defensive liability as he is prone to drifting inside too soon. Both England and the Argies scored tries by exploiting that. On the attack he offers little. Kriel is the better option, but not by much.
Disagree on De Allende, he's had 4 years now with little result. His "very good moments" amount to bumping a few guys out of the way. Esterhuizen is the lesser of the two evils.
But all this is moot if Jantjies is at 10. Clermont just need to put Pocock on him and one big hit later he's a bowl of jelly for the rest of the match.
Disagree on De Allende, he's had 4 years now with little result.
So you don't belie ve DuhAllende is franchise level?
Oh, sorry, I was responding to CC in between making lunch . Only seeing your post now.
No half decent centers and no half decent loosies plus a delusional coach.
Wat 'n gemors!
Esterhuizen is underrated. He is improving too, which is unusual for a South African player. We must show some faith. Damian has never learned a thing the past five to six years. He is very sloppy.
TACKLE
Here Damian goes into a hit up by E13 on one leg. He grabs him by the waist and swings around . He has no front on force. He commonly defends like this.
ATTACK
This is one of the many instances where he exposes the ball for a turnover.
Eaterhuizen is very slow and his defense is problematic at times. Somewhat predictable with very little thinking ability.
Unlike you I have followed Esterhuizen's career since 2013. His high point was that he was better than Fat Fransie at center - but that is setting an extremely low bar. What I have written is the real situation - so fairy tales would not help.
As t the Damian pics his dense was constantly better than Esterhuizen's so what is wrong with his tackles BSter? He goes forward into the tackles and now suddenly the carefully selected pics of yours give a totally wrong impression on what really happened.
Mozart
You are as prejudiced as they come - and consequently as stupid as only you can be, But wht can one expect fromm a stooge who think that Fat Frans ie and De Jongh are test class centers!!!!!!!!!!
Damian had no power in any tackle against England. He was hopeless. When Esterhuizen gets hold of you, you are downed like you were shot by a bazooka. There was a great tackle when Argentina got around the edge and he made an awesome no nonsense diving tackle to bring the Puma right down. Damian wouldn't do any of these things. That break would probably have resulted in a try had Damian been there. How many turnovers would we have conceded as well? Too many. No, you are absolutely wrong. I think it would be interesting to extract every clip of both players and out it in a video. Damian in his best test and Esterhuizen against Wales in a lose you said he contributed significantly to.
Frans at 12 and de Jongh at 13 give you options. Both can be a tactical advantage.
Damian is a tactical disadvantage who limits your options.
Mozart
The latest comments show against how totally ignorant you are about the game of rugby, LMAO
Dawie, name your top ten list of worthy centres please.
Frans and De Jongh ... ???
Waaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaahahahahahahhahahaaa!!!
Ag no, Dave.
Come up with something new.
You used that same nonsense as an excuse for JJ and Kriel back in the day.
We have a very poor midfield. Serfontein and Venter would be massive improvement.
