What a try!!!
5-3
Hello all. My Bok of the match thus far is Kwagga.
It is nice to see a Springbok backline following a clearly defined game plan.
I saw the second half. Some points to consider:
- The Boks made an effort to play flatter and pass quicker. This is a good thing, though it looked raw. (We need to be careful, as this is how Coetzee's Boks conceded most of their tries: turnover from very committed flat attack with lots of space in-behind).
- Skills breakdown under pressure.
- Georgians at times got on the outside edge of the defence a little too easily, and when targeting the interior of the edge rusher, they made some very good gains through the gainline.
- We got monstered in the contact area a little more than I was comfortable with, especially at the breakdown and with holding the ball carrier up.
- Boks are quick to attack space, if it's presented to them.
I see ou Organhuffer has not hi g to say about Du Toit! ????
The 17th best flank of the 2019 season was okay. Try to look deeper, it pains me that you have learned so little from the dissections over the past few years.
I thought that was a decent outing from the Boks. Rust was expected, but when we pushed the button things did happen.
I thought Ox was excellent and I think him and Ginga could wreck havoc tag-teaming the way they did.
Good workhorse innings from Mostert, especially in the second half.
Decent from Kolisi, was hitting rucks like a madman and looked confident.
Not that impressed with Kwagga, I'd give Jasper the 8 jersey for next week to compare.
Reinarch had a decent game, but Herschell definitely upped the pace when he came on.
Frans looked like he hadn't played a game of rugby in weeks. Willemse was better, but DdA will still owns that 12 jersey.
So happy for Fassi. Didn't see any "Specmagic".
Of all our players, I enjoyed watching Willie the most. A very typical performance from him; setting up tries, joining the line from the back, a couple of silly mistakes. If this match is anything to go by, he will be our chief playmaker for the series.
Well done Georgia too, a real gutsy performance.
Agree with all of it. Willie was fantastic. Coach should put him in cottonwool for the BILs.
Willemse was worse, Herschel was worse than Reinach. Kwagga was the better of the starting loose forwards. Damian is not a test level centre. Watch the game sober next time Bonny Sill.
I do not know whether braindead people can think - so you must be just this side of braindead to write the tripe you do,
I've got stampy in a bad mood again! Calm down Stamps. Take some deep breaths, relax the sphincter and slowly begin to communicate - in big people speak - where you disagree and give me some references to support this. Thanking you advance Stamps.
Beeno, once Organhuffer has made up his mind by studying his "libraries" of dated past videos and come to a set of conclusions, that's it.
Even if a player graduates from mediocracy to outstanding he is still conditioned to his original vision...it's fixed for life but he is certainly not the only one entrenched in this limited vision.
"Once he has made up his mind from studying dated past videos"
Chabal, you keep stepping into your own mouth. From which game am I asking for references? What video did I just gow through?
"Even if a player graduates from mediocrity to outstanding"
Really? My changed of stance regarding Malherbe? Stop being so emotional. How about this, we go through the game and you tell me when and where player x, y or z is better than my estimation. How about that? One party brings specifics to the table, and the other throws insults, uses diversionary tactics to obfuscate discussion or just flat out lies. You're on the wrong end of that equation Chabal. As always, put up or shut up. I've earned the right to say that.
Regarding the likes of Steph and Damian, you claim they are world class. It's only your opinion that they are world class. You, and others like you, have never ever been able to provide any detail to defend your position. So, it's a factual opinion to you because you feel it is true, not because you know it is true . That is why I dismantle you plastics so easily.
Emotional....hahaha.
You are entitled to your opinion...I realise that your eyes see differently, it's fair enough but it's fixed .
I rarely don't care what your views are...I trust what I see and experts involved, and rugby is not rocket-science, it's a simple game, indeed basically a very simple game.
What does irritate me however is the negative (not constructive) criticism, endless insults and emotionalism that is showered upon the players themselves...it's very immature and not constructive.
The Boks played very well and far better than expectations after not playing together for over a year...if it works don't fix it and give credit.
Well done Springboks, excellent game PSDT
Ou Organhuffer appears to be getting more unhinged as time goes by.
The only question I have is he really being serious or is he just being a stirrer, a very honourable profession of course! Hahahahahahahaha
Endless negativity? If they don't belong at this level, it will come. I'm not a passive Saffer. I will call it as it is. Simples. What I have put forward is substantially more than opinion. What you are saying to me is that you'll cherry pick opinions until you settle on something that you like. In other words, not the truth. Here's a thought, for every flub pushes down our throats there's a scapegoat who is not receiving the credit they deserve. Sometimes to the point of damaging reputations and earning potential. No, you're no white knight, you don't have the high ground. All of this when you could have simply taken the platform I allowed you and referenced something in-game. You know, from the eye test you trust. I mean, if you have nothing, spare yourself the pain, and just say so.
AO your real problem is that you are blinded with biase, it's a fruitless task engaging you...
Sensible judgement is backed with results, that's all that counts. Rugby is a team game and the team is winning and well at that.
Keep it simple stupid.
With our issues at lock, I wonder if we'll see a PSdT / Eben partnership for the second test.
Fees up the 7 jersey where I think we've got some depth to cover it.
I wonder if Wiese or DdP will have a chance in the 8 jersey.
People rightly say that the Bok pack was the best at the RWC, the most physical etc. A pack we wee abs could only dream of. Recall that the English pack had the wee abs for breakfast and we dominated the frot poms.
But my point here is that you take out Lood/Snyman and you take out Dianne and you replace them with guys like Kwagga (who should never come near a Bok 15) and you put in an unphysica lock like Mostert and the equation changes.
If the Bok pack does not get on top things will get very difficult.
That's your unfounded opinion Chabal. It's "useless" to engage me with nothing more than feelings. When all is said and done, we watch the same game, but you cannot reference anything, assess anything. You can't tell me why you believe what you do, because it has no verifiable opinion. That leaves you in a predicament, because you are still left wanting to take a shot at me. The feels busting information I post cannot be debunked, so relativism takes hold and I am labelled "biased", "unfair", "unreasonable". Quite funny, as it is sad.
Congratulations to Jack Cornelsen who’ll debut for Japan against the Lions.
Cornelsen and I were at Grammar at the same time and while I never played a match with him (he was really good and I was not) I watched him run out for our 1sts each week and did get to run around with him during lunches and PE. It was clear to see the genetic link between his father and himself (google Greg Cornelsen 1978 if your knowledge is lacking). He is the type of player that never seems rushed and always pops up at the right time and at the right place. He's a dynamic ball runner who keeps his eyes up and his shoulders square to the try line. He can defend from first pillar all the way to wing and is also an effective line out operator.
As a bloke, my memory of Corny was that he is a really shy guy and very softly spoken. This is what impresses me most about this achievement given the years of hard work in a very different environment a long way from friends and family. It's a shame that he was overlooked for QLD honours but Japan has given him an opportunity to grow physically and I'm sure mentally also.
Brisbane Grammar...?
Interesting info, thanks Sonny...
