I'll rather take the trophies...all the proof I need.

Proof of what? That José is the best coach? That Damian and Steph weren't passengers? That we played good rugby outside of the final? You try to make a specific assessment, then get beaten, then make a hazy generalisation to shift position; rinse and repeat.

Proof that Rassie is a good enough coach and that there are no passengers in the team...not all world beater, but none as bad as being made out by some...you don't win trophies in short time on hype and luck...you need to check all the boxes AND be lucky as well...luck is a crucial ingredient too.

I enjoy the positives...much easier, especially if things are going well...

Steph is a passenger, Lood is a passenger, Damian is a passenger, Reinach is a passenger, Kolisi is the ultimate quota passenger, Kriel is a passenger.

As per Rassie, what has he done that makes him a good coach? He was lauded for over a decade for being an attacking genius, an ideas man and an innovator. He is the complete opposite. Defence, feelings and kicking. Every team Rassie has ever "coached" has been a very stunted, scripted team that cannot use the ball despite being loaded at times with superstars. Sero record of anything outside of Nienaber's defence. Ende.

One can only laugh at the BS Mozart and the Kindergarten Imbecile  comes up with,    They used incomplete and useless stats to evaluate players - and that has been going on for years.   When players underperform on test level - they use stats applicable to all levels of rugby to support their idiotic arguments.  Meanwhhile Mozart argues against the same principle  when it comes to cricket teams election..   There is no cure for rugby or cricket imbecility, - sad to say.

2019 was one of the best years in Bok rugby, if not the best.
To go to the top of the IRB ratings for the first time in ages, and then win the world cup on top of that is proof of coaching ability.

Rassie inherited the shambles of Alister Coetzee, who had a win rate of something like 43%- arguably the worst coach of all time.

Rassie inherited the shambles, yet regressed the Boks and had an inferior season in 2018. That is surely not logical. The consensus in New Zealand was that the 2017 home Bok test was the turning point for the Boks. 2019 the best Bok season? Against what? The worst Wallaby side in 45 years, still couldn't beat the most vulnerable All Black since 1998, an injury ravaged Welsh side that we scraped past in what was called by the media the ugliest game in world cup history. One good game against England.

This wasn't even close to our best season. Beating the All Blacks three times and winning a Lions series and sweeping a FULL Tri Nations against stronger opposition isn't an achievement? The 2007 WC season was better, and that was a vastly better team against stronger opponents. The Rassie groupies don't have an answer. The ideas man regressed the Boks in every single attacking category, regressed the output of the likes of Willie and Pollard. Strip away Nienaber and you have nothing. Rassie leans heavily on his crutch.

It's sad to see Dr Mozzz and poor Organhuffer trying to convince people that Du Toit is not up to standard.

Reckon this blunder in judgment rivals poor Rooitwit saying Luke Watson was better than Schalk Bürger.

Dr Mozzz and Organhuffer nobody believes you but if you want to make fools of yourself regarding Rassie, Du Toit and Allende it's your call.

This all started years ago for Dr Mozzz when I started praising Rassie as an outstanding coach. At the t ime Rassie was player coaching the Cheetahs and they went on to win the Currie Cup. Dr Mozzz made the fateful step of mocking Rassie and its been downhill for him on this issue ever since. Now he has poor Organhuffer egging him on.

I tried to help them both but alas to no avail.

2009 was our best season since the mid 80's

Rassie did no coaching at the Cheetahs. The coaching was always done by Hawies Fourie. Another crutch before he was exposed. All he added was disco lights.

IdiotMike: "As to Steyn he buggered up badly at flyhalf - aimless and inaccurate kicking was a major problem and he neutralized the whole backline.   After Du Toit and De Allende were replaced  the team malfunctioned and went backwards,"

11 kicks out of hand 1 was not good. ALL the others led to a gain in territory with some of them a huge gain, before additional phases were set op with rucks with offside lines, etc... THAT is in fact what actual tactical kicking is about...

But what would I know... I am merely a retired coach with a 100% win ratio at provincial level in 27 matches...

1. First a correction... It was 26 matches. I specifically checked my records, just to make sure...

2. I will not give out personal identifying information

3. But I will give a general background.

I was part of a coaching TEAM (for 15 years). The matches referred to (26), was a number where the head-coach was not available over a period of time due to injury and I was the "head coach" for that period. So credit must also go to what I had available in terms of players at that point in time and their preparation before I took over at that stage... I will however be in the unique position to say that in all the matches, where I acted as head coach the team never suffered a single loss. And now that I retired from coaching, that "personal" win record will remain in place...

This is is just a short summary of the record of the coaching team, as it stood on 2018-12-06

Provincial matches (15s and 7s):
Matches: 130
Wins: 117
Win ratio: 90%

Provincial 7s (All matches):
Matches: 114
Wins: 103
Win Ratio: 90.35%

SARU Inter-provincial Tournament: (7s)
Matches: 62
Wins: 53
Win ratio: 85%

International 7s
Matches: 145
Wins: 104
Win Ratio: 71.72%

TOTALS:
Matches: 275
Wins: 221
Win ratio: 80.36%

No, I'm not agreeing with Maaik on the Morné topic at all...I'm saying that you can't back up your argument the way you did...if you can't say and prove who you claim to be, it shouldn't be part of the discussion at all.
