Lets get one thing straight, the All Blacks were their own worst enemies today. So many unforced errors that really kept the Boks in the game, and took the foot off their throats. This is the most pap Bok side I have ever seen; it's a good thing they kick so often, because in general play they are quite emphatically weaker than all of their opponents this year. They started the game with the outside rush, and the Kiwis headed that pressure and came back inside, where they absolutely hammered us, gaining massive chunk yardage. Lood was there to be seen with his very poor tackle radius and almost equally poor physical presence. The only place he could be found doing anything constructive was in the lineouts, and this really was where the Boks kept the All Blacks at bay in the second half. The Bok midfield was the most uninvolved and impotent I have ever seen. Quite literally, I have never seen anything quite like it. Where were Damian and Am? Malherbe had his best game, better in the scrums and also massive on defence. Marx needs to start. Van Staden looked good coming off the bench. Kwagga was physical and a nuisance, a very involved competitor. stood out in the first half for the Boks. I wasn't as impressed by Thor. He is there on reputation, and is well below the base level set by Wiese. Had a couple of good moments, but is not the physical presence he once was, and is noticeably not generating the momentum of Wiese.

I know the Boks would be thinking they deserved to win, but they really were let off the hook. Unforced errors allowed the Boks to have a margin on the scoreboard for doing almost nothing at all, like the first Puma test. Unlike los Pumas, the All Blacks were able to overcome it. The All Blacks will improve, but this was the Boks putting all of their eggs in their prima basket and going for broke, and they looked every bit as awful as they have all year, if not the very worst. You can't hope the opposition have a bad day and gift you penalties and freebies, especially if you are the world cup holders. They simply had nothing to give other than the kick and the lineout. They were comprehensively outgunned everywhere else. This is the worst world champions of all time, the weakest Bok side I have ever seen and the most impotent. They have pretty much nothing to offer, and don't look like they belong at tier one level to be perfectly honest. The coaching is utterly horrendous, and worse than the lowest point of the Snor era, and the Straeuli Boks actually do compare more favourably as well.

The same old Boks, what else am I supposed to say? They couldn't use the ball at all aside from kicks and were only really competitive in the lineout. That's the bottom line. The Boks stank. The All Blacks by contrast ripped us apart. Just a few passes stick to hand, more as they usually do, and we have a cricket score on our hands. If you truly think this Bok side is playing tier one standard rugby, you are kidding yourself. They are awful.

Wow ... what an embarrassment.

Scraping past a team riddled with quotas, the elderly and the useless.

I certainly expected a better performance from the All Blacks.

Yes ... Nkosi's opportunistic try did flatter their scoreline ... but you guys were pathetic.

These are quotas.

What would you have done if they selected a team on merit?

Get your act together or these governmental pics are going to take your no 1 spot back.

Pathetic.

I'm really pissed off. We had a perfect oppertunity to put them away but blew it. We should have wipe the floor. The All Black's were very poor. No disrespect to the, but if ever a team wanted to beat them, today was the day.

Quoatas: Real Quoatas are the 2 dud assistant coaches, Stick and David's. David's did okay at the Queens but never really had any success. Where the hell is Swys De Bruin? We have no clue how to string an attack together.

Stick, he coached an EP under 21 team and one a minor trophy. How the he'll does this qualify him as a world class coach.

Rassie got the job because he promised transformation targets will be met, so he is getting close to that. But why leave your best players on the bench.

Mostert should be named Tosstert. As in Toss.

Why not drop Willie and give Fassi a crack. Would have done way better, especially with his pace countering from the back.

Niena, what on earth has he done with the boks this year. Complete puppet of Rassie.

No, this team is becoming a laughing stock. We have the players, not that may quotas to be honest. Just the coaches.

The Boks played like the Bools and the ABs played like the Bargies…it was our only option at this late date. But how irreverent would it be to add some back play? Remember Habana,Jean, Marius Joubert… they all ran in brilliant back line tries against the ABs not so long ago.

The Boks played above themselves and NZ were well below their best and as stated on here - if some of those passes had stuck the Boks would have been given a hiding.

Small margins on New Zealand's part. It's a lot like the first Wallaby test: The performance was more emphatic than the scoreboard would have one believe. Our defence is not as stout as it's made out to be; there were several tries left out on the field. This isn't a Bok team of old, where attack might be off top level, but the defence is robust and tight. We are incredibly open. Were we not living in times were covid restrictions have disrupted the continuity of the game, we'd have been even more greatly exposed. At this point, nations are rebuilding that continuity and evolving. We were already behind in José's first year, now we are fading into irrelevancy. But, you just know that when time comes to finally rid SA rugby of the José & Krutch duo, they'll have missed the boat, and will make another mistake.

Remember Habana,Jean, Marius Joubert… they all ran in brilliant back line tries against the ABs not so long ago.

Fallacious as usual.

SA rugby has never been able to put a backline play into action. They will never know how to do it.

What is happening is that SA rugby is no longer in a position to provide conditions required to press those tries in the reality of a game. It is antiquated and most opponent teams no longer concede situations that got those tries to materialize.

It also is fallacious as it fails to consider that tries may be scored without using a backline.

Plays by forwards may be conclued by tries.

As SA rugby has fallen so behind other rugbys, though, in order to keep pretending, the SA team must surrender this potential. They must allocate their energy, their efforts on a very limited palette of tasks in order to pretend.

Comparing to boxing, SA rugby is like those boxers whose main strategy is to refuse the fight, anytime they can, they rush toward the other boxer, grabbing his torso, touching heads, hooking with their arms.

Fight is a key element in rugby and SA rugby keeps pretending by turning down the fight.
