 They are playing superb soccer Chip-ou. And I spent the better part of two years at almost every Spurs home game.....I have an affection for the team.

I have seen Spurs play live and must admit the Stadium is good. The pitch looked fantastic- and I just don't understand why the rugby pitches are not of similar quality. 
Although it is probably in the worst area of London though. It would be very easy to get mugged outside the stadium. Right next to the 7 Sisters.  

 @ SB. There are rugby pitches that are done, using the same technology.

It is actually quite interesting how it is done. I took a tour of the Emirates stadium a few years ago and it was explained.

I am not too sure which are all the rugby fields with the hybrid pitches. I know for a  fact, though, that Saracens' Alianz Park has a hybrid pitch. I seem to recall that Cardiff Arms Park, Cardiff Blues' stadium, also has a hybrid pitch.

Allianz Park is fully artificial. 4g Artificial I think. Thats why you never let the ball bounce there. In my opinion its the way forwars for all pitches.

 @Xavi. Thanks. I was under the impression that they also had a hybrid pitch. In any case. The Arsenal pitch was done by Desso Sports. These are the rugby pitches that were done by the same guys and you might find  a few interesting names in there:

Hybrid field is legit. Best of both worlds. Increased durability, but still has enough give to prevent a higher rate of injury.
Fully artificial surface should never be used for rugby imo. Maybe a good financial decision but sacrifices the players health. Even the newest ones which have come a long way from the first carpet on concrete design, with the long blade leaf and small rubber pellets are not giving enough and it hurts like crazy when you hit the deck hard or slide across it and get burned. Joint fatigue is much higher after a game on that stuff.

 @Naruto. I have read a piece about it a few years ago and I do cannot remember everything off the top of my head. I will have to find the pieces about it again but I will try and explain based on what I can remember from the Emirates tour that we had. Remeber that the Emirates has a hybrid pitch. For this they basically weave natural grass in with the artificial grass, opposed to a purely artificial pitch.

There is a lot more behind it than just the grass surface alone. At the Emirates, and probably the other pitcehs as well, they almost have an air conditioning system underneath the surfac e of the pitch. They can virtually recycle the water that is use for irrigation. The same obviously goes for rain water. That is due to the drainage systems that they use. They basically capture the water underneath the service and collect it into "tanks", which is used to water the grass again. The hybrid pitch also requires less water than a fully natural grass pitch. All of this is obviously due to the drainage systems that they have in place.

The first game that I watched at the Emirates was between Arsenal and Newcastle United and I was surprised to see that they had the sprinklers on during halftime. I was even more surprised to see that there were no hint of any standing water anywhere on the pitch when the game restarted.

 Interesting, thanks Vlag. They sure could use some structural stability at Ellis Park. I'm amazed that the safety of scrummagers hasn't been more in the news...or that some overseas team hasn't refused to play. It looks like somebody could get seriously hurt as scrum after scrum collapses.

from what i read, hybrid grass seems to be the way to go for rugby grounds.

would love to feel the texture of the artificial grass with my own hands, but i  suspect it would be still quite sore to slide across.

i didnt know that forsyth bar had hybrid grass, i would have thought that being indoors meant they could have a full grass rugby field and maintain its upkeep a lot easier.

Oops, down to third in the final round. Newcastle United (already relegated for 2016/17, and reduced to 10 men in this game) 5 -- Tottenham Hotspur 1.
The good news, though is that they will be i the CL next year with Arsenal and Leicester City. Man City will play in the qualifying round to try and get in the CL. Southampton will be playing in the Europa League while Man United will be in the qualifying rounds to try and qualify for the Europa League.
Chelsea and Liverpool will be watching the CL and the EL on the telly.

 They imploded a few weeks ago when Alli and Dembele departed...but the team is very young and should be better next year. They seem to lack on the field leadership.

 Not necessarily Moz. If Liverpool win the Europa Cup (this week?) they will be playing in Europe also.
