But we must lose two!!! Seems to me the Blues have not been great shakes for many a year and should be chopped.Drop a nz and one SA side seems right and proper given how we largely fund the competition. Trust our spineless SARU people to allow nz to get away with this nonsense.
Beeno highlighting a travesty!

Very easy, NZ has 4 competitive teams and 1 middle of the table. SA has 1 middle of the table and the rest are rubbish. On form SA should have 1 and Australia 0.
Geez are you that thick you cant see the obvious Beeno

I think a petition should be made to stop the axing of the Cheetahs and the axing of those bumbling blues. Its the right thing to do.Why should we be paying the larger part of everything only to watch the bumbling frot Blues rather than the enterprising and always entertaining Cheetahs!
Theextreme partiality and lack of common sense of the kbbs is showing itself again.

Blues results from 2012:2012 - 122013 - 102014 - 102015 - 122016 - 11Total 55
Cheetahs2012 - 102013 - 62014 -142015 -122016 -14Total 56
Hence on can say there is really no difference and two vital factors pertain. We pay the lions share and have the bigger fan support base and secondly Cheetahs play more entertaining rugby.Case closed. Let's get a petition going whereby Blues are Axed. Sorry Cloudy but it' s in the best interest of rugby.

Blues have played against far tougher opposition, e.g. kiwi teams. Last year and this year they have been rated as having one of the toughest schedules. Beeno, please open your eye a little wider, you will be amazed what you will see.

Besides Beeno, everyone knows the refs favor the SA teams I'm sure you agree - SABBs are very familiar with the "incentive system" re the refs. I believe I have provided plenty of pictorial evidence of this in the past - gold watch, etc.
13 May 2017, 17:23#13
Yeah I agree. The Blues have been poor for an age and should be dropped.
The World Cup winner of 2011 was decided before the opening match whistle sounded. I'm just wondering if this is something similar.
Kiwis are greatly favoured. Even their chumps get preferential treatment.
What cracks me up is that these wankers strutt around as though they deserve to be treated diferently to the rest of the rugby world.

Well SANZAR is a partnership and a partnership should be equal if it's gonna be successful. The form of rugby teams are cyclical, so the current form of teams should not weight that much. Keeping the 5 NZ franchises and reducing SA and Aus to 4 each will only extend NZ's superiority in the long run. Super Rugby is dying an ever increasing death. The conferences is the big problem. S14 was probably the last functioning structure.
14 May 2017, 08:15#22
Anything that favours the Kiwi is accepted. Fairness to others is never considered.
It's always only about the Kiwi and their needs ... and we've grown used to it.
They even made sure that the travelling arrangements in SR favoured their teams and if there were a close competition for the rugby player of the year you can bet your bottom dollar that the Kiwis would see to it that one of their candidates received it.
Look how they pouted and sulked for 2 decades when they couldn't win the WC title on their own. It had to be given to them.
A thousand excuses were used ... food poisoning ... cheating ... the ref ... blah, blah, blah ... and amongst all the failure they still thought of themselves as better than the rest of us.
They weren't ever man enough to admit that they were just not good enough to take the trophy.
Now they want all their sides in the competition ... while the rest of us must do away with ours.
Nothing has changed in all these years.
Same old arrogant, self serving pr!cks.

seems that Mr. Been is not the only clueless,....this is not about culling the non-performing sides,.... never has been,.... it's about trying to make all the sides as competititive as it's possible,.... which is quite different
untill the moment the sides of a country are feeded by players of the same country,.... and this is not going to change, at least in the near future (there won't be any NBA or NFL-like drafts),.... no one in SANZAAR want to change this
and what we've seen in the last couple of years is the total failure of the SR 18 format for a lack of competitiveness of many teams and the total domination of the NZ sides,.... this is quite clear for everybody (without a band on his eyes) and there are as many data as you want that show this:
-there are 7 teams atm that have more than 30 points, the 5 NZ teams plus the Lions and the Sharks,..... and the SA teams, mainly the Sharks, are there only because they don't have to face the NZ teams this year
-the points difference of the 5 NZ teams is + 717
that of the SA teams is -27
and the PD of the aussie teams is -519
.... the examples can be countless,....
SA and Aussie don't have the players nor the coaches to have 6 and 5 competitive teams respectively,.... so unless a draft is introduced (which is not going to happen), the only way to make the SA and aussie teams competitive is to reduce their teams
14 May 2017, 11:31#24
The Blues have been bottom loggers for years now.
I guess they qualify cause they're Kiwi, huh?
There has to be changes made ... yes I agree ... by all of us ... including you.

Not that old chestnut, please Draad?Stop whining like CC and just admit your teams are simply not good enough and lack any depth.Of course you need to drop 2 teams; in fact 3 would be more like it to give you any chance of winning a Super Rugby title.Watching the Sharks bumble their way to a loss vs the Kings was just awful....

Kbbs it is very obvious that the Cheetahs should be preferred to the hapless Blues. It will come as a surprise to you that nz is a minor financial partner and not everything must favor you halfwits. My only regret is that it would make a blue day for dear Cloudy!
No kick out the Blues and retain the Cheetahs is the right thing to do and we must do the right thing of course.

It's hilarious to think that a third world country like South Africa has to foot the bill and give a hefty handout to the New Zealanders so that they too can play Super Rugby.

Brycy our midget backline would be asked questions by the Cape Town girls under 13 team. I bemoaned this fact years ago and each year since. Rugby Union is not sevens and you can have too many midgets. If you include the scrummie the Stormers have 8 very small players. It's giving away too much. Only outstanding work by the props and two locks give the pack some credibility. Elstadt was a huge loss then that ot her young number 7 got injured or suspended, I don't recall exactly.
15 May 2017, 09:24#38
...You'd think that the Stormers would be favourites with betting agencies but no - especially considering they're playing at home and they're one of South Africa's best teams playing NZ's worst performing team...what up with that
15 May 2017, 09:26#39
...Kings paying quite well to beat the Brumbies, might be worth crack..
15 May 2017, 09:49#40
In a fair round robin system the NZ teams would probably make up the top five spots....the Lions possibly in there somewhere, and then the rest of the teams wallowing some way behind. Who cares about the which country brings the most money? If we don't reduce our teams, or do something else really drastic, the competition in its current format is doomed financially anyway, because nobody enjoys watching games where it is almost a certainty that one team is going to steamroll the other....the other in this case is most of the SA and Aus teams.
If the competition remains the bore that it has become, there will be no money for any one country. Make all the teams competing more competitive and the people will watch. In other words, get rid of the serial bottom dwellers.
