Cards become a factor after the Japan loss.

Cards are always a risk. But a red card in any of our pool games could sink the ship. For that reason alone, I would start with Strauss against Samoa. There is going to be plenty of needle in the Samoa match, our guys need to be very professional in their response. If they are, we may find the aggressive Samoans falling foul of the bin.

 Strauss to me has always been better then Bismark anyway. Strauss never been seen as world class like Bismark. But I think he offers more.

Last time around Bismarck was very fortunate the ref did not see him strangle a Samoan in plain sight, ironic that it wad Smit who was carded for knocking the ball down when we swatted from underneath the ball with his finger tips trying to rake the ball in. 
Point being that Bissie is looking quite flustered the past couple of games and has a history of losing it in these kinds of games. Strauss is calm and methodical, and more secure ball in hand. We need a good carrier that can power over from wider patterns, it adds a dimension to our game and allows us to attack Samoa in a different way. 

3uk1, Bissie was selected by the media purely because they wanted to attack Smit. This is often the ploy they use. 
I will say, this year was the very first time in Bissies' senior career that the media got on his back and you could see how that created a sense of urgency. He did actually lift his game considerably and started adding elements to his gam e that we had never seen before. I had no issue with that Bissie starting but he looks a little off since the first Argentina test.

 Strauss is a more consistent player, but Bizzy has always been capable of that superhuman performance. The guy is a physical freak. 

Against Samoa, probably Strauss deserves the nod, he added something when he came on against Japan.

Modern Rugby is getting weird, since when have hookers had the step and speed like Dane Coles and Strauss. 

Bissie had an improved RC, but was lethargic against Japan and costly with the whistle.Admittedly Adriaan has had his bumps in the road but I do like seeing him on the field. 

 Our whole team was lethargic.  Strauss disappears in tight games unless he turns over possession going to ground.

He has to take up something imaginary about Watson being preferred ahead of Schalk by the media - which must have been a figment of the imagination.  According to him, the media reports also impacted on the  coaching of the Boks by Pieter De Villiers as well.   
I do not know what he reads in the media about the various stories he raised about the media.   Gact is De Villiers was not the coach - the ship was run by Smit, Matfield and a few of he senior players.  By then Smit was a washed-up has-been who should have been dropped by 2009 already - but since the team selection was managed by the players themselves - there was no team renewal and that era.   He also mentioned Morne Steyn as a media victim.   By 2011 it was clear that the one-dimensional Morne (only a foal kicker , nothing more)  was clearly so poor he should never  have been in the Springbok team at all.   It as clearly seen that Lambie was a more dynamic player - not by the media, but by the experts and thinking people.
What he did want is that most of the disaster squad of 2011 must be retained this year showing that rugby is one step to far insofar as his thinking ability is concerned.  As a result he is constantly in league with Low Life    
s to the Bismarck issue he always was a better hooker than Steyn.   However, over the last year or so Bismarck has gone stale probably as a result of his advancing age.  What in fact happens as that impacts on his performance.  He obviously does not enjoy the game anymore and that results in dirty and illegal play, as well as the fact that his penalty count is constantly mounting.   All indications are that he is approaching rather rapidly the end of his international playing career.   
Under the circumstances Strauss would be a better option on Saturday than Bismarck.

There is one common factor that impacted negatively and one other factor that impacted negatively on the performance.   The one common factor was that too many of the players were over the age of 30 and suffers from aging rugby disease.   The other factor is that there was no leadership on the field of play in evidence.
Both those are the result of Meyer's poor squad selection.   

Bissie is the man in a physical match. With the samoaners you need to tame them. They start very uppity and need putting in their place. hence guys like Bissie Eben, Lood, Vermulen Burger etc.
Once tamed you bring on Strauss and open up a bit. 
What you never do it play pap matfield. That is like playing with a yellow the entire match. 
I would probably start with this pack.
Trevor, Bissie, MalherbeEben, Lood
Burger, Vermuelen and Louw.

Reserves:Beast, Strauss, Jannie (Experience to close out the match).Du Toit a great young player who could make a 7 also if played there regularly.Kolisi by default. Man how bad was Meyers selection of loose forwards. Would love to have Jaco Kriel as an impact player! Once the Mighty Boks pack, properly selected has softened up the opposition bring Kriel on.
