As Mallet correctly observed the Irish were playing illegally to stop the Boks scoring there should have been even more yellows. Mallet felt ref was embarrassed to give more.

The Irish came for a fight, boks came to dominate and suffocate them and strangle a win out tonight. This was not a game for anyone. Can't believe the Irish looked like they could snatch a win with 15 min left.

At least this is a win and we can finally put the Irish hoodoo to bed. Still a very difficult game to play.

I hope to see Pollard back and that we get rid of Manie once and for all.

Dud had a nice piece of play in the first half. Managed to get the ball wide and a few food passes. But Kriel was the worst culprit for not getting the ball wide with so much space. Never got Kolbe into the game.

Think Rassie over did the scrums, Shacha showed what patience can do.

As they say a win is a win. No card this time, maybe we forgot how to play with 15 men

Boks dominated the physicality exchanges, but their must be concerns how the Irish closed down the Boks space in the backline.

Given the Boks domination, they must be a bit concerned to not put more points on the opposition.

I think if Arendse is declared fit, move Kolbe to 15 where he can cut the backline on attack next week.

Put Willemse at 12. Moodie is ok, but at times is a bit of a carthorse.

Jessica Kriel had some good runs, but he puts his blinkers on and always goes to ground instead of looking for a support runner.

Delande was Delande, just another loose forward. Would rather have seen Esterhuysen moved to 12

The up and under's were mostly poor by the Boks, but even when they were good the Irish countered them well.

8 Minutes of scrumming in one spot, nothing to show. Then kick after kick after kick after kick. This was the worst of Rassie failsafe rugby, right back to time of the Faf box kick jokes. May we never see it again. We're better than this.

Our discipline was terrible. The red card was a red card all day. Crowley yellow too, and a host of other infractions. Plenty of errors as well, kicking the ball out the full, dodgy lineout.

I don't blame Ireland for conceding penalties at scrum time, South Africa are just the best at scrumming at the world in the moment.

Least they didn't capitulate.

South Africa deserved winners, but I think that match could be described as anti rugby.

Boks got 2 yellow cards. The one by Snyman was rescinded using a rugby law I have never seen.

Williams was sent off with 4 minutes to go.

The Irish got 5 cards in one game, first time I have ever seen that. 4 yellows, and a orange (20 minutes).

Your boys fought hard, Stav. I was urging the clock on to run out at the end there, if Ireland got a try 3 or 4 minutes from time things could have gone pear shaped.

As I say, I just hope the tension has been broken a bit now and the next encounter delivers more in the way of rugby. Both these sides are capable of so much more than this shapeless ill tempered brawl.

Yeah I was happy with the fight there. About the best thing that can said about our performance.

This time next year in the Nations Cup. Also in Dublin.

I see anti Bok Mampara Pakster sounding off like the half baked loon he is.

Pakster did you listen to what Mallet has to say?

Do you understand it's hard to play against a side playing illegally. The ref was too lenient on Ireland.

Pakster you just dont understand what you see.

But as I noted befofe the match the Mampara Union will be at it after the match.

What an utterly boring bunch of whingers.

Doubtless should we beat Wales these buffoons will be composing about something.

Oaks the give away is they are never happy. They will only be happy when next the Boks lose. They truly have RDS.

Th ere are issues where I wa sunhappy about ejay ha[[emed inm yjr game / I t h ink part of the rpoblem esd tjat with control of the forwrds pack more trie hould have been scoredm by usin g the backlione and not for the forwards to play Jake-ball.

Too many peenaltie given awaay was anothe r problem as well.Maybe th Irish wer playing negative rugby and broke the law continuoiosly sut that is no reason for the S prin gboks playing negativ rugby as well.

The fact is the S prin gboks won the match and for that we must thank the coaching tram and players,

What worked for the Springboks was that they managed to keep the play in Ireland's half for more of the game. Then they played a high-pressure game that forced the Irish to make errors.

When the Boks lost again to Australia earlier in the year, they tried to play an expansive game from within their own half on first-phase play. So whenever the Boks made a mistake, it gave Australia an attacking opportunity, but when the Australians made a mistake, the Boks couldn't kick for poles.

So, even though it was an ugly rugby match today, it was percentage-based rugby that allowed the Boks to win.

The Springboks always play at their best when there are as many players as possible behind the advantage line, thanks to a committed cover defence.

What I am ag ainst is when the S prin gboks attacked ad evens cored a try thick as a brick Wiese made a forward pass. He also gave away 2 penalties. when the Springboks were deep in the irish territory

The other thing tha bothered me wa the ineffectiveness of driving mauls when the Springboks were 5 or so meters from the tryline on a number of occassions. The one suh occussion Snyman was outjumped by his opponent and there was a posession turnovee by the Irish umper,

The other isue that is worth commentin g on is team spirit, Whem under pressure like in the F rench and even he Italian tets he team spirit caused the wins - eterday unde rless pressure i was notbeen as effective,

Another th ings somebody sh ould each an maybe learned from the Isrish is that insead of the Irish jumping high to catch balls kicked at them or they kicked is that they made no effort to catch the ball,- what they did was to jump and slap he ba;; back to othe Irish playes - much more should be sdone by the Springboks as well.

Maybe I am over-critical becuase I expect more from the Springboks - but the we also ave Etzebeth wh spend 50 minutes i doing near to zero on the field of play, Time to look for a replacement for him as well.

Etzebeth haf a good game.

I thought Kolisi after a good start went quiet?

When the other side is off side repeatedly and playing illegally as Mallet said it's hard to score.

I saw a You Tube video where in the comments section almost every poster was complaining about the illegality of Ireland's play.

You have to be a rugby Mampara to not understand all this.
