The following fro News24:-

The future of EP Rugby president Cheeky Watson could be determined when the union holds its special general meeting in Saturday.

Watson’s position as EP Ruby president is seemingly in jeopardy with certain clubs reportedly set to table a motion of no confidence against him.

It was reported late last year that Watson was unlikely to get the majority of the clubs votes at the meeting on January 30.

Willem Oliphant was reportedly the favourite to succeed Watson as EPRU president.

This follows a financial crisis at the EP Kings that has seen the South African Rugby Union (SARU) take control of the union’s Super Rugby franchise, the Southern Kings.

The financial matter at EP Rugby is not yet resolved, but SARU on Thursday assured that operations and participation of the Southern Kings in Super Rugby would be unaffected by an application to liquidate EP Rugby (Pty) Ltd.

The action was brought by the South African Rugby Players’ Association (SARPA) on behalf of a number of players over unpaid salaries. The application was triggered by what SARPA described as the recent “preferential treatment of creditors” by EP Rugby (Pty) Ltd."
The one politico on th way out and another on the way in.

I hope this is the last we see of Cheeky Watson. However, t he board may be able to vote him out, but will his bum chums in government allow that?

The EP Kings (Pty) Ltd run by Watson went belly-up and they still has not paid their players.  The man is an absolute BSter - but can be protected by his cronies in Government by him producing a letter from Government promising to bail out the Union - like they did in the past.   Threats can also work - but that would not be effective.   That the reason for the question mark.

Probably the second most loathed individual in SA Rugby...
Hope he immigrates to Ireland and becomes their burden.

Can't stand his character.

This guy has done more harm to EP rugby than any other soul.
Pity as it was quite a decent union prior to being "WATSONED"
