Geriatric Matfield will probably land up getting injured during the season. Something has got to give when you are his age playing rugby at Super Rugby level! Although,now that I think about it, it is hardly like he does any hard graft, so he'll no doubt get through the season injury free.

I really like what Ackerman has done with the Lions. His initial appointment as coach was only as a stop gap, but he has really turned things around, and made sure that his stay is not just temporary. What is e ven more impressive is that his relative success has been without the big name players possessed by the other franchises.
I doubt the Lions will make the top 6, but I will be shouting for them to do so as if they were my own side!

I have high hopes for my boys. Very excited about the coming season. Would be delighted to end mid table. Long haul for us though ... a solid 9 weeks before we get our first by ... by that time many have already had their second. No fair.
We tour after 3 matches. First up is the Blues followed by the Saders ... then we cross over to take the Rebels on and finally finish our tour against the Reds.
It sure would be awesome if we could come away with 2 wins. Wishful thinking ... I know ... but we have a good chance against the Rebels and the Blues.
Good luck to the Bulls. They're gonna be the SA team to beat this year ... even with useless FL.

If Boshoff made his kicks it would have been a different story, small margin and a small win was the outcome for the Stormers in the final.
Rooting for the Lions this year seeing as my beloved Cheetahs have no hope as well as the fact that the Lions play smart rugby which is a change from the run-at-all costs that Drotske seems to follow (Probably because it's the easiest thing to coach). Also looking forward to seeing how certain Lions players perform, I honestly believe it's a 60/40 chance that the Lions will beat the Hurricane s tomorrow.
