 VZ century, good stuff, but is only Windies after all  Still better than the first 3 bats.

 It seems to me that the opening pair of the Proteas maybe their real weakness.   Elgar did not have a good year in any format of the game and Pietersen was really poor and has been for a while now - with his average in the last year of about 20.   
Something has also gone amiss with Faf du Plessis in recent games - maybe he should move lower down in the order.   The position of 3 could be that of Van Zyl - that is the position he played in for the Cobras.  
However, the question remains - do we not have a better opener than Pietersen.   Looking at the present scenario - I think the batting order could be as follows:-
1   Elgar, 2  Amla, 3 Van Zyl, 4  Du Plessis, 5  De Villiers, 6  Duminy, 7  De Kock and then the bowlers.   If Duminy is not available - I would bring Rilee Rossouw into the mix.     

 No Mike, why would you want to move our best batsman to open?

 Try Elgar and Van Zyl? Doesnt Van Zyl usually open?
Mike just swop Van zyl for Amla. Ab should be at 4? 
One question is where should De Kok bat. How good is he? Is he being wasted at 7?Personally I would like to see him at 5 and definitely not lower than 6. He looks to be a major talent. If it wasnt for his wicket keeping one could see him batting at 3.
With Duminy back we have our top 7 that include two spinners. Elgar and Duminy must take their bowling very seriously.

 One thing I'm sure of is that QdK are not nearly ready to bat in the top 4 in tests. 5 or 6 is probably the b est spot for him, but 7 is OK for now.

Amla is used to opening the batting - but yes I would have no problem with switichning him to 3 and playinng vsan Zyl to open the batting.   
I am not sure about the enforing of the follow-up.   Steyn got aa problem in his first over in the second innings of the Windies - and Philander lasted only three overs and went off.   Abpott tried a few overs - but the bulk of the bowling had to be done by Morkel and Van Zyl, with Elgar and Abbott bowling a few overs as well.
I am surprised that the Windies did not attack the part-time bowlers more - they elt Van Zyl get away with murder - 10 overs and only 22 runs scored.  2 of the 22 runs were scored through wides in his first over - so the Windies only scored with the bat 2o runs in his ten overs.  
I suppose the frontline bowlers will be rested and fit to start the bowling attack tomorrow with the Windies still 275 runs behind.    

 Mike, the match status dictates that the Windoes can't go after any bowling. Saffex might get a few if he bowls now and even I might get lucky. When a team is so deep down even crap bowling yields the odd stick.
