It will now be a major clearout for the All Blacks with many legends retiring.Hopefully now they will be easier to beat- although Hansen probably has his plans for the next 4 years

From a Bok to a Kiwi' - honeymooning couple gifted tickets to Rugby World Cup final 9:03 PM Saturday Oct 31, 2015

Is this the ultimate wedding gift?

A Kiwi couple honeymooning in London for the Rugby World Cup were gobsmacked when handed free tickets to the final by a South African fan drowning his sorrows after the All Blacks semifinal triumph over the Springboks.

West Aucklanders Graham Paniora and Moe Lewin, both 37, wed in January. Their three-week honeymoon in Europe was planned to coincide with the World Cup.

The couple attended the quarter and semifinals after getting tickets in a ballot. But they were gutted when they missed out on tickets for the final.

While standing at a bar at Twickenham after the All Blacks win over the Springboks last weekend, Paniora issued a plea to fellow drinkers. He asked if anyone had any spare tickets for the final for sale as he had just got married.

Paniora couldn't believe it when Springboks fan Brett Riley, from Durban, handed him two tickets for nothing as a honeymoon present.

"It was an incredible gesture and he told me it was from a Bok to a Kiwi, from a rugby man to a rugby man," Paniora said. "I almost burst into tears."

The Kiwi couple will now be there to cheer on the All Blacks from seats in the South Stand with an elevated view. The tickets would have cost about $1200 each at face value.

"Our honeymoon has been fantastic but this really has been the icing on the cake," Paniora added. "We are so bloody excited. It is like being in a fairytale."

Congratulations to the All Blacks. I thought the Ozzies had a chance, but after all the recent tough games they had no more gas in the tank left for one final big push.

Must say, I think Meyer was silently happy that his team did not had to face any of those in a final.

Sadly my abiding memory from this RWC will be that vokken loss to Japan .

Claydog; Moore did you guys proud with his interview after the game. Did rugby proud for that matter. Hansen also reciprocated with some very positive word about the Wallabies
Talking of good for rugby's image here is a story on SBW's generosity & concern about a wee lad who ran onto the field during the celebration & was tackled by security.article and video

JW that was a fantastic thing SBW did and shows what sort of guy he is. The security guard was a bit harsh crash tackling an 8 year old. I saw Sonny Bill say if that was his brother or cousin he probably would give that guard a hiding. Legend. Cheers boys.

    al is fair hey lads....
to be honest there is a mutual respect between the all blacks and boks supporters even though we hate each others guts the week before a game afterwords there is always a decent bit of banter and good wishes...thats the spirit of the game and thats how its meant to be played.
as well from my side congrats all blacks for the best planned rwc in history. you guys timed it to perfection

Carpet, they did not time it well at all, they have dominated world rugby for the last four years, and they simply continued to do so at the world cup! No timing involved! I would have loved the Boks to win, but in the end the best team DID win!
    Well done AB's.

Haha, all good Carpet! Argies ran the AB's close in their pool game, and we gave them a solid go in the semi's, so I guess they did not have it all their own way, but in the end, they never really looked like losing a game.

Spare a thought for the Mighty Boks sold down the rever via the reversal of the penalty! should have won the RWC and nobody can deny thsi.Quiyte extraordinary given how tactically poor our gameplan is.One would have to say the Boks are intrinsically alot better than the wee abs.Oz would have had no chance. heck even the pap ab pack gave them trouble.
So another RWC burgalled. Congrats though it was a vast improvement from the bryce lawrence debacle.
What a bunch of imposters!!!!! Both the wee abs and Oz - neither of these two teams should ahve been in the final - fact.
Beeno as always setting the record straight! Its what gentlemen of standing and integrity do!
    Please note hacked waaaaaughahahaha
Congrats to the poms as hosts as well.
Apart from Craig Joubert and A Yob from down under the reffing was way better. Mcaaaws 7 turnovers and 7 penalties says it all. The wee abs were pinged like we never see in the RC proving yet again their rugby record is a fabricated myth. All very satisfactory. Beeno on the right tract as usual.

Away with the wee abs! Ditto of course OZ.

Beeno, yes refs caught wee Matfield trying to execute a neck tackle, poor wee chap was too scrawny but the ref felt that he should recognize his effort so gave him a penalty to make him feel like a real lock. Retallick & Whitelock showed the world how to play lock as a combo with complementary skills.
Boks played well given the very limiting game plan. Meyer may not be gone guys so prepare yourselves. Boks could have done better if they opened up occasionally , the surprise factor would have been there. Still a lot of potential in the Boks team.
Next year we will see what players emerge for SH teams. New season,  new players
