Perth? A second rate tournament with a mediocre field....much like winning on the Sunshine tour. Silly, snippy stuff Mike....but I know, you are hurting so I'll give you a pass.

 Mozart since when is the European Golf Circuit comprised of second rate tournaments?  That is one for the record books - must inform the organisers that you think so and they must up the ante.
Better still have to advise Johann Rupert to withdraw his funding of some pf the second rate European tournaments on your advice - since he is funding tournaments in Europe and is Honorary President of the European Golf Circuit.  Also have to advise Ernie Els he should withdraw from the Eur opean tournaments as according to you it is second rate tournaments.       

The only player ranked in the top 20 in the world in Perth was Oosthuizen, ranked 16th. It was a second rate field, even Adam Scott wasn't back home in Oz playing in Perth, he was in Florida with all the other top players.

 Still a  European Circuit Tournament and Grace won the Qatar Masters less than two months ago when McIlroy took part in that second rate tournament as well.   Must be disgusting that the second rate European Circuit count for nothing in your book.   You are not humiliating me - you are just showing rank ignorance about what is going on outside of the USA iro of golf, athletics and rugby.       

Rory Mcilroy never took part....nobody in the top 10 took part. It was a better field than Perth, but not much.

It is amazing how the second rate players of the second rate European Golf Circuit keep on winning the Ryder Cup.  Still think that I should inform Johann Rupert and his good friend Ernie Els to have nothing to do with the second rate European Golf tournaments - since according to you it is a second rate series of tournaments and Golfers.   Rupert is wasting millions in sponsoring those tournaments.
Mozart can I have a letter of confirmation I can forward to all parties concerned?

I may be wrong about McIlroy - he did play in the next second rate European circuit tournament the next week - the Dubai Classic.   Amazing how golfers can lower themselves to play in second rate tournaments on the European Circuit.

You may be wrong Tokkie....hahaha. Not one top 10 player. These are  regional tournaments, nice to win and certainly an accomplishment. But nothing like winning on the PGA tour. 
In fact after many years of trying neither Grace nor Oosthuizen have won even once in the States despite winning many times in Europe.

The only European Tour event that is in the top 10 is the Open.
It's so typical that a post celebrating a significant accomplishment attracted lousy comments from the Board's two top egg magnets. It is also so typical they have again been shown up as woefully ignorant.

I am an admirer of Charl Schwartzel and think he is a wonderful golfer and deserve the victory thoroughly - but when our golfing expert failed to congratulate Oosthuizen and Grace for winning European Circuit tournaments and then went on to equate the European circuit tournaments as inferior and second rate tournaments, I am beginning to feel that his expertise is on par with his knowledge of rugby which is very near to the prejudice level of performance evaluation - in other words just about zero.

It is so typical of the expert on nothing is so ignorant as to equate the  European golfers as participating in second rate tournaments played by second rate golfers when the said golfers are beating his top US golfers time and again in the Ryder Cup.   That remains one of the 7 wonders of the modern world in sporting contests.   He talks about egg magnets - while he is under a mountain of egg himself with his poor utterances on rugby and other sports - of which he knows about zero. -   

The other achievement of this week by Wayde van Niekerk in athletics means nothing as well, as he did it at a second rate tournament in a second rate country. What a joke we have here,

Martin Kaymer, a former world No. 1 and past PGA Championship winner, announced this week that he's joining the PGA Tour. Lee Westwood is moving from England to Florida. And big-hitting Nicolas Colsaerts of Belgium told The Associated Press that he will cut his European Tour events to the minimum 13 next year so he can play a full schedule in America.

``It's a stronger tour and you have the best players in America,'' Colsaerts said Wednesday. ``This is perfect timing for me. I've had a pretty good year over here and it's maybe time to have a taste of somewhere else, see if I like it and see if it it's the tour I will be playing for the next couple of years.''

Luke Donald, Ian Poulter, Justin Rose, Graeme McDowell and Peter Hanson already were based in Florida, with Donald splitting time between Florida and Chicago. Hanson finally earned enough money this year to take up PGA Tour membership, though he had been living at Lake Nona in Orlando, Fla.

European Tour chief executive George O'Grady said the departure of so many stars was a testament to the quality of players in Europe and the increasing openness of the U.S. tour to take them.

But he agreed that keeping the top talent requires larger amounts of prize money, an increasingly difficult prospect at a time when the financial crisis led this year to the loss of four European Tour events in Spain and one in Czech Republic.

``We are concerned, but not panicking,'' O'Grady said. ``We have to improve our game back here in heartland Europe, make our tournaments better and that also means richer. We don't seem to have any problem on the structure in the game in Europe developing the talent. But you want to see more of your talent as much as you can.''

Kaymer, Colsaerts and Hanson will be full PGA Tour members for the first time next year, meaning the U.S. tour will have 28 of the top 30 players in the world ranking. Also joining is Ryo Ishikawa of Japan and David Lynn of England, the PGA Championship runner-up by eight shots to Rory McIlroy.

``The U.S. tour is an attractive tour. You play in one place and it's quite an easy tour to travel around,'' said Donald, who won an NCAA title at Northwestern. ``Europe is becoming increasingly difficult. There are a fewer events in Europe and more in Asia. They have done well to create a schedule with lots of events in Asia, but it has its disadvantages through travel. You can't blame any player for wanting to go play on the U.S. tour.''

Even better, the SA Open on par with The Open, both European Tour events.

G Jaaaa ou Hangtieite. So tell us. Do you rate the SA Open on par with The Open, yes or no? If not, then why not? They are both on the European tour after all. 

No-one claimed the Perth Open was the equivalent of the US Masters, chump, but it is a recognised European Tour even which makes it just as relevant as some arbitrary PGA event like the Valspar whatever.
I know the insufferably arrogant and insular Yanks don't see beyond their overrated PGA Tour but recent Ryder Cup results are all the proof anyone needs that the European Tour is at least a match for the PGA Tour.
I'll leave it there for now while Ceradunce runs off to Google to find out what the Ryder Cup is.
