Daily Mail speculates on Farrel for Lions Captain

Not sure if this is a valid speculation, but it's interesting: Farrell would be the gambler's pick. England's vice captain has gone from strength to strength during this year's Six Nations and is now firmly established as his team's talisman. Teak tough, technically superb and possessing a gun fighter's survival instinct, fitness permitting Farrell is a cast iron certainty to start either at inside centre – alongside Johnny Sexton – or at fly half, if Gatland opts for a more confrontational approach with two heavy ball-carrying centres. His lack of captaincy experience may count against him but Martin Johnson was also a rookie skipper at international level when he led the Lions to victory in South Africa in 1997 and Farrell possesses the same warrior instincts as the man who went on to become England's greatest ever leader.
