Sad news. Music has lost one of the greats.
I'll never forget playing David Bowie's "Space Oddity " at the tragic funeral of a very close friend almost 30 years ago and that song always makes me very sad . . . now doubly so.
RIP

Merry Christmas, Mr Lawrence is one of the Great War movies, David Bowie was mesmerizing in the title role. Sad loss.

Very sad as it seems that he had messes of fans. Music is down to taste, and his style just did not gel with my taste, but no disrespect to him! A far bigger loss to me personally was the death, also from cancer, of Lemmy Kilmister from Motorhead a few weeks back. Lemmy/Motorhead was unknown to most outside of rock circles, yet he seemed to carry God like status among fellow musicians and rock stars. Even those that were massively more successful that Lemmy himself like Ozzy Osborne and Metallica viewed Lemmy a a rock idol!
