Hard lines Matey. This was a stalemate most of the contest. The Panthers defensive line was terrific. But the whole Denver defence was tighter than a drum. And there's no denying it, Manning at 39 is still the master and Cam Newton the pupil.
Yet another major contest won by experience.

I enjoyed Lady Gaga's rendition of Star Spangled Banner.

I prefer Maria Callas or Kiri te Kanawa. But actually Lady Gaga has a decent voice.

I think it is far to say that solid defense wins most finals in team sports!

What a farce to state that defense is the only thing that counts - attack and defense should be a good balance and the absence of any attacking ability is BS.
But then another age argument creeps in - that says it all. Are you nopt over the age mania yet? Dud useless Matfield taught you nothing?

I'm not convinced there's too much attacking or defending when it comes to Yankball.
I know each team has a sub-group of fatties called "offence" and "defence" but really, they're all just a bunch of talentless showponies plodding around the field in helmets and padding trying not to get hurt as they fill in time between the commercials.

Not a happy camper today - Moz
But we'll be back. Have the whole coaching staff back, defense is young, Benjamin will be healthy next year, we finally have some cap space to go after some players and Cam is only 26 and he's really grown up this year - he'll learn from this experience imo and prove the doubters wrong. He's proven me wrong from day one in the NFL. I thought it was a mistake to draft him.
Defense wins championships more often than not and experience matters. The two reasons the Boks were always going to be the biggest challenge to the AB's in the World Cup.
Rooi - the NFL has grown on me the longer I have lived here. I felt much the same as you do initially, but it couldn't be further from the truth.

Any NFL team will have 3 players who would beat any Springbok over 100 m....and 3 players who could lift more weight than any Springbok. The athletic talent in the game is awesome. The AAS is clueless.
They were in with a chance Matey and for a while in the third period they had the momentum. With the vagaries of sport who knows when they get their next chance, but the key players are young which suggests they will improve.

It is an insult to sport to call it Football.
It was great to go sking in Whistler with all those loud mouths staying home to watch the farce.
Beautiful white fluffy powder snow to enjoy.

I actually don't care that much for it much either, but to suggest the guys who play it are not awesome physical specimens is deluded. There were more characters in the old days....I remember one of my first Super Bowls when the Cowboys last shot was to get the ball to the " world's fastest human" Bob Hayes, who had once taken the Olympic 100 metres. Hard to best that bit of blarney!
