I obviously did not cover Etzebeth - who was brilliant in all respects, but looked carefully at some of the other players - especially starters.  The stats confirm my opinion about the game to the effect that -
*  Coleman was a real disaster at flyhalf;*  That the center pairing is also poor*  The loosies are not up to standard*   The wing situation - other than Van Wyk is unacceptable
I think that Coleman needs to be replaced asap and that The center situation needs to change drastically.  The return of Elstadt and De Allende is a plus, but both Carr and Kolisi are liabilities.
If they insist on playing De Jongh - they must move him to the wing and play De Allende and Van Wyk or Dan du Plessis as centers.  Zas is good - but he has a lot to learn - especially iro defense.
The present backline as a whole is toothless and drastic change is necessary.

Mike, penalty counts for props are misleading due to scrums. Officials often get it wrong. Stats is a useful tool,  but tell only half the story. It must be analysed in full and put into context too. Difficult to do with combined stats for multiple matches.

There are various ways of looking at stats - but in dealing with the games a natural tendency develops and that tendency is what is really perturbing.  The games played by the Stormers backline has been poor since the Sharks game and even though they won the two subsequent games - it was due to the sound defense of Tight 5 players - while the loosies were not up to standard and the backline performance in general was a sick joke.  The backline is at best toothless and very poor as a unit.
The Stormers may get into the play-offs - but that is where the dunce type of rugby played normally becomes unstuck.
The Stormers has a chance to change the backline and it should be done now and not later in the competition - when it would be too late.   I feel strongly that a change of the backline should be done urgently and hope the loosies would improve with the return of Elstadt.
I would play Notshe at 6 - Ekstadt at 7 - Burger at 8 and put either Carr or Kolisi on the bench.
