Over the last two weeks we were subjected to praise songs of a number of players by our local on the Board expert and did the English stop playing traditional Springbok rugby pr in fact they did adhere to the playing style of the Springboks as advocated by our sophisticated rugby authoritarian?
I am in total despair - how can things go wrong so badly? Lets take the following examples:-
* George Ford is totally unacceptable at flyhalf - the ideal flyhalf is Farrell. He should be the Lions flyhalf in their tour of NZ in June - he is physically ideal for the purpose of playing at fyjhalf. Problem is that the stats of Farrell on Saturday was seriously defective. He had 16 tackle attempts and of those missed 6 - a missed tackle ratio of 37,5% and his 8 ball carries resulted in a territory gain of 22 meters. Is the ESPN stats wrong or are we to believe that the physical ideal Farrell had a bad day at the office?
* George Ford is physically inadequate - how the hell did he make 10 tackle attempts missing none?
* George Smith is phenomenal - not was in the past - but he is still so. He was so good he had the same tackle stats of Farrell - 16 tackle attempts missing only 6. And his 3 ball carries in the game resulted in a territory gain of 11 meters.
* On the other hand the physically inadequate Kriel attempted 18 tackles and missed 1, Is it another ESPN stats lie?
* Was Eddie Jones under the spell of White, Meyer and Coetzee yesterday?
There is a lot of answers needed and our local expert has gone missing. Come back - please - we badly need some explanations and justifications. Somme enlightening song lyrics would be of great help in this case.
