I assume you watched the game that ended a bit earlier.   I really am surprised about the new players like Elgar and a few others as well.   I thought that without Steyn and Albie Morkel we would not make it.   We need a new wicket keeper - but there is an under 19 player  that had the Autralians talking about a new Gilchrist being coming forward and he is a real candidate for inclusion in this squad.   AB was very modest about the issue - but we are now the no 1 ranked team in all formats of the game.

However, unlike rugby Kirsten is not afraid to try out new players and put them in the deep end,   They normally survice and prove that they can handle the higher levels on international basis.

Yep clevermike...

His name is Quintin de Kock

Next big thing to hit SA Cricket. He is the real deal.

As hard as nails and as talented as they come... and he speaks with his bat!

His timing is also great.... with the retirement of bouch and the inability of de Villiers to score big runs when he keeps

kirsten develops the players not just skills wise but mentally as well that is why the players coming through the system seem at home almost on the big scene. they are not caught in the headlights allmost.

i have seen quintin de kock and he is the real deal. i also would like the management to pick him early and get him into the squad as early as possible. the an eye on the future he can really be a world force for us. i do love ab de villiers game as well but keeping and batting and being the captain will show some strain after a while. as a batsman and captain its tough allready. thami is to old and cant really offer much with the bat. quintin de kock is the next super star in the wings

But I'm also guessing Amla and Steyn make the world team....with a few others knocking on the door. A lot more than we can say in rugby....and rugby has fewer serious participants

We have greater depth now in rugby than we have ever had. Sadly our coach is a little lost to this fact and injuries are not helping the cause

Mozart

There are possibly two SA players in SA that could be considered for a "World team" - both injured - and that is JP Pietersen at wing and Bismark Du Plessis.   The only other potential candidate is Etzebeth - who definitely is a bench candidate.

If they have second or third teams - the following could be considered:-

Habana, Hougaard (at wing), Lambie, Pienaar, Coetzee. Vermeulen, Bekker and Oosthuizen.

Fourth or fifth team - Strauss, Jannire Du Plessis, Alberts and Beast

Sixth or seventh team - Jean De Villiers, Francois Steyn

Not even remotely considered:   Kirchner, Morne Steyn,Potgieter, Cilliers, De Jong, Greyling and Kruger

Some players included in the present Springbok squad have not been considered becaue they have not played for the Springboks or had very little international exposire.

There should be nobody that could be candidates for the sixth or seventh team or not cconsidered at all in the Springbok squad.   We should look for other better players to replace them - they should never be in a Springbok squad at all.
