Does this mean Coetzee is going to stay?

From SARugbymag ........... Brendan Venter and Franco Smith will officially join the Springboks' coaching staff ahead of the team’s first training camp next weekend. According to a report in Rapport, Venter and Smith will link up with Allister Coetzee’s management team next week, with SA Rugby set to announce their appointments in due course. Venter will take over as defence coach, the fourth one in that position during Coetzee’s turbulent tenure. Venter is currently contracted as defence coach of the Italian national team, but will reportedly be relieved of those responsibilities after the Azzurri’s Six Nations campaign. Smith will be the backline coach, replacing Mzwandile Stick who will serve as assistant coach of the Junior Boks at the U20 World Championship later this year. Meanwhile the Kings’ Konrad von Hagen is likely to replace Jerome Mampane as the Springboks’ team doctor. ............. The deckchairs are being shuffled and it's hard to imagine these appointments would be made if a new coach was imminent....why tie his hands? But it's great, we get a defensive coach whose team has just yielded nine tries against Ireland.

That is old news.  Coetzee is to stay - but a performance clause is to be added to his contract - which will mean that the French tests in June will determine his fate.  
You obviously did not watch the Irish - Italy test, but even if you did you would come up with distortions.   The Italians defended quite well in the first half of that test - but the Irish rolled them over in the second half.   That has likely zero to do with defense coaching - more with poor subs and deficiencies in fitness of players.
The Irish is a very good team in any event and the Italians far from one.

I always blame the defensive "cpach" when a team concedes 9 tries one week, and 6 the next week. You apparently think that's great.

 Dr Venter is a very astute coach and should be the Bok coach long before Coetzee. He will be the brains in the outfit. Coetzee can zip it and just bank his cheque each month.Hopefully we will do better this season.
