 It's easy to discredit someone who's a bit of a d!ck, quite another thing to come up with a viable alternative. ..ask Angela.

 I used to go to Caracas often in the eighties....it was a decent place, staying at the Hotel Tamanaco. I still recall one night we were in the main dining room sitting by a window as the skies darkened. Suddenly a cross appeared high in the sky and then disappeared....I asked my companions whether they saw the cross. Nobody had....which was a bit concerning. But next day I spotted it again high on a hill, the clouds must have briefly opened revealing the lit cross and instantly closed again. 
Still ...nothing that another scotch couldn't cure.

 Well, did the scotch cure the cause of the cross?

 It certainly sanitized the water!
