Donkey Barometer of the week

As usual, we had a strong list of contenders. The Zas slip tackle that got him sent off was worth a mention. However, the handoff Skoosan received after his pathetic shoulder charge tackle attempt to let the try scorer go in unchallenged is the winner of the week award. That try killed the game as any form of a contest. 

Overall not a good weekend for SA rugby with only the Bulls the only light at the end of the tunnel. 
The Stormers seemed to lack any game plan, and Delande has been a revolving window since his return on defence. 
The Sharks defence is ok- but any attacking play is spontaneous- with no idea of a game plan or set plays.At least a half decent result
The Lions were a comedy of errors with Jantjies throwing hospital passes at will, varied by charity floating intercepts.
The Cheetas put in a half decent performance but still poor.
The Bulls were the easily the best performing team with the best offloads in the tackle instead of going to ground. This helped them maintain a high tempo of rugby with continuity, instead of collapsing in the tackle and slowing the game down.

Yea, not a good weekend results wise SB but thought the Sharks playing the table topping Chiefs within 2 at their place, Bulls handily beating the Force and the Stormers pushing a very talented but under-performing Waratahs outfit with 14 men for 25 minutes were all more than respectable. 
Lions were simply not good and the Kings never stood a chance.

 Table topping aside I didn't think the Chiefs were impressive in the first half by their amount of handling errors but one always got the impression that as soon as the ball stuck it would be a just a matter of time before the clueless Sharks would be put to the sword. The weekend results underscores what has become my mantra....."SAFFA teams have a long way to go."

The Bulls performance was the best of the weekend. None of the stop start stuff of the tackled player collapsing in a heap to give the opposition time to reorgnise their defence.
I am not sure about the Chiefs a game as it could have just been a bad day at the office for them. 
Coennie is now arguably the worst player in the tournament. He gets worse each game. The opposition must be delighted when he is a prop.
