ExSport 24

Cape Town - Robert du Preez will line up at flyhalf for the Stormers in their pre-season friendly against the Boland Cavaliers at Cape Town Stadium on Saturday.

Demetri Catrakilis and Kurt Coleman played flyhalf in last Friday's 39-31 win over the Cheetahs at Newlands.

But Du Preez will get a chance to showcase his skills with a starting role on Saturday, the Stormers announced via their official Facebook page.

Du Preez, 21, has been a star performer for the Western Province juniors and many has predicted a bright future for the youngster. He is also the son of former Springbok scrumhalf Robert.

Stormers coach Allister Coetzee will announce his team to play Boland on Thursday.

It will be the Stormers' final pre-season match before they start their Super Rugby campaign against the Bulls in Pretoria on February 14.

Must say I have uneasy feelings about the bulle match. It loooks like we will be short of our best side by some way. An away win to start is a big plus so lets down the bulle.

We won the CC because for the most part we reverted to traditional WP running rugby. Will the Stormers open things up or try to grind it out with defence? Unfortunately Etzebeth will be missed....he is worth a try before the teams step onto the field.

Agree, its very important to get the balance right. Catrakilis is probably our best flyhalf and takes the points on offer with a cool mind.
I think the days of extrteme defence and caution are over.

 my debacle? really?
please, don't be so arrogant and presumptuous.......

if you call debacle to show how you were posting manipulated graphs, to show how you don't even understand what you read in a scientific article, to show how you interpret (wrongly) whatever you want from these same articles and generally that you have no f*cking idea of what you are talking about.......... it's your option...... to live in your delusional world.........  sure you'll find your old fe lla Mr. Been there

and the only one who seems hurt is you yourself......... I was just pointing a fact...... your team (and fans) always come with the same tale at the beggining of the season and always end up doing the same...... the most boring brand of rugby that one can watch..... that's a fact
you don't like it? ....... your problem,...... but don't come with old threads,....... and that arrogance

firstly, if you are going to quote what I said, quote it properly,......... don't invent as you always do. If you quote somebody you have to put exactly what he's saying,....... you cannot quote and put whatever you want.

"I'm guessing things in life haven't quite worked out."

What's wrong in your f*cking brain? you are not able of discussing a matter by itself or what? you always end up bringing subjects that have nothing to do with what we are discussing, the rain forest when we are talking about the Steroiders, my life,.....

And for your knowledge, my life is none of your f*cking business

is it clear or do I need to explain it to you?

Fine, but if you look back in this string....you will find you made the first comment. Refrain and I wont be commenting on your limited thoughts. Does that make sense? Or do you need further help?

It's actually very obvious. I made a total fool of you several times in the Warming discussion....notably when you didn't get the fact that the warmers blew the call on the rain forests and when your expert witness was a journalist from a nothing school whose expertise was a tour in Iraq , not climate.

So you are embarrassed and now you want to fight....it's a familiar pattern.

I am not on about vibes and other things - but would like to express an opinion on the youngster at flyhalf.    After completing his schooling - Du Preez went to  Stellenbsoch University for his tertiary education.
He was in the SA Under 20 team in 2013 - while still at school - and played as a flyhalf in virtually all games in the 2013 WC - allowing for Pollard to play at 12.  That followed by Varsity Cup selection in 2014 for both Pollard and him.   Interesting enough Pollard often played at twelve in the Varsity Cup Series - while Du Preez specialized as a flyhalf in that series.   That is where their careers took a different turn.
We all now what happened in the case of Pollard - but what happened to Du Preez was much more sedate.   He played for the cup winning Under 21 side for Western Province - playing a key role in that competition.
A good player that is going to continue to progress in both his academic and sporting career. His basic stats are as follows:-
Born -  31 July 1993  -  21 years of ageHeight - 1,92 meters (6'4")Weight - 96 kgs.
Not much different from the stats of Pollard - Du Preez is 2" taller than Pollard and about 1 kg lighter.  Physically a big guy.

"BASQ, you give off an angry and bitter vibe. What's wrong?"
Draad, why don't you direct the same question to the deceitful and pompous coward on this thread?
ABasque is discovering for himself what a manipulative, childish and small-minded little person Moffie is and I understand his frustrations . . . especially when his Servile Gimps start joining in the attack on anyone who dares to criticise this deeply unpleasant and conceited old toad.
Tell me Draad, did you ever call Moffie out for his bitter and hateful decade-long tirade against Dave? Huh? Do you have a problem with Moffie's recent campaign against ou Maaik where he mocked him and tried to belittle him in every post? No? Why? Why is it okay for Moffie to behave like a bitter and vitriolic little child but when someone gives it back to him you get all preachy and sanctimonious? Is it because Abasque is an All Black supporter and you consider him the enemy?
The double standards on this board beggar belief sometimes. If you're going to dish it out then at least be consistent about it and don't attack someone retaliating to childish behaviour and bad manners without at least acknowledging the instigator . . . unless you're completely blind of course.

ABasque, Moffie's behaviour on this board is bad enough but what I find genuinely sickening is how his Servile Gimps (as well as some otherwise decent posters on occasion) kiss his fat arse and turn a blind eye to his overbearing, bullying and sneering manner and his pathetically childish "debating" style which has driven away many valued and decent posters.
I don't waste time talking to the bloated and conceited old windbag but I won't turn a blind eye to his boorish and petulant behaviour like many others do. He's an embarrassment to South Africans. Just treat him with the contempt that he so richly deserves and don't dignify his pathetic lies or his squawking with any kind of response.

Rooi & ABasq. My comments were not in support of Moz. I care little for all this sandpit squabbles. ABasq, your first comment on this thread was unfounded, negative and a bit snide. Rooi, "Stormers/WP" is your poker "tell", I normally ignore it. ABasq, I am no "climate denier" as you put it. I merely states that solar ELECTRICITY is too expensive and not that enviro friendly as some would like us to believe I am a nuke power fan. Bring on the guillotine! As for leaded fuel. Glad its gone, but the successor isn't that clean either. Solutions aren't black and white and are only as good as it is affordable. Rooi and ABsq. I call things as I see it. I have no double standards and no allegiances with any other posters on here. Please quote specifics when accusing me. Climate denier my arse, work on your comprehension skills ABasq.

Draad, you didn't answer a single one of my questions.
Let me try again. Note this is the second time I'm asking . . .
1 Did you ever call Moffie out for his bitter and hateful decade-long tirade against Dave?
2 Do you have a problem with Moffie's recent campaign against ou Maaik where he mocked him and tried to belittle him in every post?
3. Why is it okay for Moffie to behave like a bitter and vitriolic little child but when someone gives it back to him you get all preachy and sanctimonious? Is it because Abasque is an All Black supporter and you consider him the enemy?
Questions 1 and 2 are simple yes or no questions. If question 3 makes you a bit uncomfortable, just answer the two one-word questions so long and we'll get back to the other ones later. Okay?
I really do want to know why you had a pop at ABasque for something very mild and yet you've never said anything about Moffie's disgraceful and childish behaviour.
Please spare me the "I don't want to take sides" nonsense (because you already have) and just answer the simple questions. You say you call things as you see it, well, here's your opportunity to prove it.

 1. I can't recall. Moz and Dave have been going at each other for so long, I'm sure I've been dragged into some of it.2. I like both Mike and Moz as posters?, so I did not like it when things got a bit mean, but Mike went looking for trouble more often than not,  so I fail to see why you feel the need to pick sides.3. This wasn't the first time ABsq had a go at WP/Stormers and it won't be the last. I sense anger and bitterness beyond normal banter, like present in your posts as well.  I asked a question and got a bitter, sarcastic tirade back.

BTW, Rooi why did you feel the need to jump in?

Not to worry, I'm getting the picture now. It's starting to look like a WP thing. Anyone who criticises WP or the Hapless Stompies is a bitter and stupid person but it's fine if the Stompie Blowhards rip into other teams and their supporters.
I always knew the Blowhards were a bit precious and defensive about their team . . . just not to this extent. I'll certainly bear this in mind in future.

 @Ddraad,

"This wasn't the first time ABsq had a go at WP/Stormers and it won't be the last."

This is a f*cking joke. Everybody, and I said everybody, had a go and will have a go at others' teams (if you call to have a go to my first post in this thread).
Do I have to remember you how, for example, Mr. Been comes day in day out with comments about the wee AB, or the wee crusties, the pap crustacies, etc, etc, etc. ? Did you ever say something about it?
To answer those very oftenly nonsense comments (at least in the case of Mr. Been) what people do, what everybody does in rugby discussing sites like this is to answer making comparisons with and comments about the other's teams (in the case of Mr. Been, the boks and the Steroiders). Comments that remain in sport issues (not like your friend mozart's).
Ironic or even sarcastic comments at teams are the daily bread in sites like this and it's simply what I did.
You don't like it when it comes to your team? it's your problem

"I asked a question and got a bitter, sarcastic tirade back."

Are you retarded or what?............. just asking another question
If you are not, don't treat us as if we were with this kind of comments.

Thirdly and finally, finish the job, if all else fails suicide is an option. There are several benefits...for starters it saves on costs putting you into permanent care.

There, all wrapped up... off you go.....Misery.
