Yes that was poor of DA letting Richie round him like that - it had nothing to do with gas and everything to do with DA switched off to the situation. By the time he woke up to the fact it was too late I’m not sure why he misread it like that but he is not perfect of course - much like Kolisi not making that pass Brainfart by both

Then of course they ignore everything good the guy did which earned him a good game rating as we saw.

So tell us what good Alkende did beyond the bare minimum expected of him on Saturday, Beeno. Bring some substance to your claims for once.

How on earth was he not gassed? He was slow to respond but Mo'unga still had to go around him...and then DDA was totally done for pace by Mo'unga. In that one simple moment we saw two failures in DDA's game, failures that we've been pointing out for years. He is slow of mind and lethargic of foot.

I loved the first hit up by Damian. He gets dumped. Literally. No, it was another Damian farce. He put out a traditional Damian performance. Underpowered, weak in the upper body, poor in the tackle, unable to read the game, and he exhibited a dangerous bobbly pass in out 22 as well. Damian was dominated. He was exposed. Emotional and highly dishonest Saffers rated this team highly on the day. Damian gets a 1, and nobody else is higher than a 5.

I see all the Erasputin disciplines crying that the team of the tournament isn't loaded with Boks. They can't understand it. Why not Pollard instead of Mo'unga? Well, look at the stats. Why not Kolisi? Why not Damian, or Steph. They can't see the forest for the trees. The same faces who have ignored and defended lapses that have cost the Boks are the same faces who will not accept that Damian had a bad game, or that he wasn't very good throughout the tournament. This was actually the worst string of performances from a Bok side in a WC. Even though Mostert was the star of the Boks, I wouldn't even select him for any all XV.

I'd give PSDT, Faf, Kwagga and Pollard all more than 5. ...I'd give DDA a negative score if I could.

If  younger he could've made a potent blindside flank.

Look at all the players which have had similar time investment. Faf, Pollard, Eben...hell, even RG who has been plagued by injury, their value is clear and you can rely on them to turn up. You go through the experienced Boks and most of them will play well regularly. DDA plays badly regularly and occasional doesn't something approaching decent. DDA was totally protected and only had to play a handful of games at the WC, and with all that time investment/experience, that was the performance he delivered. Even a shyte batter will hit 50 once in a while. But when DDA has the odd decent game, suddenly it's all the confirmation we need that he's world class. He's lucky because a batter's average doesn't lie...whereas a 12's role is apparently more mysterious than the symbol on Mystic Meg's fanny ring.

He was not gassed he was slow to react and completely misread the situation There is absolutely nothing wrong with DA’s pace never has been And one poor read does not define how great he has been for the Boks DA is a class act who had a below par final

And one poor read does not define how great he has been for the Boks

One poor read? If he wasn't playing in a enclosed space, every game Damian plays in would see a search and rescue to recover him post game, as he'd wander off at the very first assignment and become lost in the wilderness searching for his man. Days turn to months, and a bewildered and ragged Damian would be found staggering around believing his rescuer is the Mo'unga he's been looking for, or perhaps the Nonu he's been chasing down since 2015.
