Ceradunce
I frankly am not interested in that pic at all. The pic I used as my avatar was while De Kock was hitting a ball - ie in motion while batting. I am not interested in any other pic - only in pics of performing sportsmen - get that through your bloody thick skull. That is why I am not interested in using pics of non-performers like Morne, Steyn, Victor Matfield, Willem Alberts and Frans Steyn as avatars. There performance this year was sh!t-poor -so not to be considered.
In 2012 the Bulls were in the play-offs against the Crusaders and they lost because Morne F#cked up badly - standard to his test performances in 2012.
The semi-final you mentioned was in 2013 in Pretoria was against the Brumbies and the Bulls lost because Morne F#cked up badly - same reason as in 2012, same result. I can still remember the match-deciding try of the Brumbies - a totally misdirected relieving kick straight at the Brumbies wing 15 meters in-field and he scored the deciding try. Something similar to what happened in Perth last year.
From then Matfield returned to play and the downhill trend became evident at jet speed.
Your defense of Matfield is paper-thin and without any substance whatsoever. In 2014 9th on the log - this year 8th. There record during the period 2012 to 2014 in CC was atrocious - but when Ludeke, Spies and Matfield were gone from destroying the team, they improved like a miracle. I am not saying Matfield was the only bad egg in the mix, Ludeke and Spies were equally bad.

" Ceradunce

Translation...................... I have no clue.
The case on Matfield is closed because you are jumping around like a cat on a hot tin roof again. The facts are destroying your own little fantasy again. Neither PSDT nor Loodvoet were ever threats for Matfield. They were/are always to brittle to be a threat to him and they need to toughen up a lot to be any kind of thread.

Dunce
Go and sit in the corner and stop writing crap. Matfield's only present attribute keeping him in the squad is that he is pally-pally with Meyer - bugger-all else. He never was a performing player in Tight 5 play and was consequently less subject to injury than other hard-working locks.
Then the standard BS. De Jager broke an arm this year in Super 15. He was playing for the Cheetahs as a lock si9nce 2013 and the latter injury was the only serious injury since he started to play Super Rugby. De jager is twice the lock Matfield is at present - end of story.
Du Toit is 5 times the lock Matfield is at present. If you study his injury record you would find that there is a correlation between hi injuries and his extremely high work rate.
Low work rate players like Matfield and Morne Steyn - who shy away from physical contact - are not injury-prone. Comprehende - Doffies?

Give us the stats that say that Matfield and Steyn shy away from physical contact. Steyn is not under discussion here but then again, it is only others that are constantly reminded to stick to the topic while you are free to roam In any case, even your infamous 2013 Ellis Park test prove that Morne Steyn made more tackles than any other backline player.

He also missed more crucial tackles where tries for the AB's followed than any other backline player. never a good enough flyhalf - and will never be one..
At least my opinions are based on factual performances - yours are based on Bulls therapy and fairy tales.

This is a joke by Ceradunce. Morne does not attack the gain line - so much so that the opposing players ignore him completely and go for th inside center who has to cater with a hospital situation. The man would not make the flyhalf starting position in his club - so how the hell can he be a Springbok flyhalf? A poor reader of the game - a poor kicker out of hand because he is constantly inaccurate with aimless kicking be his normal. Hi only asset ever was his accurate goal kicking - for the rest he is one of the poorest flyhalfs we ever had.
Morne is the worst flyhalf we could even consider for selection to the WC squad. Your knowledge of rugby is badly exposed by your support of Matfield and Morne being included in the WC.

Hahahahaha. And that explains why he made more tackles than any other backline player, including the inside center who is on the receiving end of the "hospital situation". Geez man you cannot seriously expect any one to swallow that BS. Here is something, that fits your way of thinking like a glove, to make you think:

Yep and beating the Lions, winning the TN and the Top 14...is better than a CC. Although Morne won that as well.

The fact is that the Bulls have gone backwards since 2012 and that was the reason for the departure of Ludeke from his job. This hovering around what players so-called achieved in years gone by and in most cases more than 4 years ago is tripe - i does not allow for their present performance level.
The other fact is that the Bulls main problem under Ludeke was an outdated game plan - as out-dated as his favourite players became.
Whether Mozart and Ceradyne like it or not - we are doomed with an early departure from the upcoming world cup because of that same scenario. However, it is going to break my heart to see how the glorious Springbok name is damaged by this squad and I think the best advice for the two are that they have ample time to invent excuses for that early departure.

It's going to "break" the Perv's heart if the Bok name is "damaged", but week in week out this hypocrite calls for the Boks to lose.....gleefully. Does his broken heart sound like the truth to you? To me it all sounds laughably phony.

Cloudy....No-one can survive this forum unless they suffer from some form of insanity, it helps....but then there's JW....and you, like I've said....a breath of fresh air. At the end of the day this forum is like a nice hot stew on a miserable rainy day. Why on earth would we all be the same...variety as they say is the spice of life.

Thanks for the compliments Cloudy, it is all about contrasts though as without them I agree it is boring. Look at the ROAR site. It has a different chemistry, they get into more technical discussions on rugby and are usually very polite and respectful. Somehow I prefer this site

JW suggest to the oaks there that they change their name from ROAR to squeak! They also need to know that for all their rugby ramblings they lack rugby acumen!
Biltong Bek was queried on some points he made, found it hard to defend his logi c and vamoosed. A great pity as he was a good guy but had a glass jaw! The squeakers forum would suit him better!

The ROAR doesn't allow posters to post images like: so that severely limits the contributions of some wee posters
BB was smart & very knowledgeable about the game. He did not like the rough & tumble of this site. We also have to admit that some of us like to bait each other & get a little carried away from time-to-time. Amazingly those who are not interested just seem to ignore what they don't like.

BB didnt particularly care if you disagreed with his or other posters opinions but he couldnt stand all the ad hominem attacks and off topic dumb-buttedness .Plus I blame Beendork .

One big, happy, dysfunctional family!!! At the end of the day, as Moz has said, it is the disagreements that keep things interesting. I don't often resort to name calling, but some of the witty insults flung around by others are pretty funny! Rooi for example, often a pain in the arse, but his use of the English language often had me giggling like a school girl...easy Mike, I am not a school girl! LOL
Beans and his obvious lopsided views...although, he almost always manages to bait the NZ'ers here, Moz with his overcompensating reactions to any challenge thrown his way, Saff and CleanC and their in you face commentary, Brycy and Hakwa, the master baiters (say it fast), Just_w and myself balanced...for the most part, but basically just as full of shart as everyone else, Mike calling the kettle black......speaking of black, Ward always towing to race line, D Advocate perpetually repeating what Moz has said, Cera for going back to the corner of the ring between rounds so that coach DAdv can pass on Moz's thoughts, Denny pretty neutral...except when it comes to Mike and Saff, Cloudy - Nice...etc etc etc. That is why all of us are here! It is interesting!

".....but why can't people just agree to disagree and move on?" Ideally that's the way to go, I agree, but the reality is so different and we're all guilty with the rare exception. If my memory serves me right your run-ins with Redman wasn't an example of agreeing to disagree, not picking on you but just pointing out that for some strange reason most of us tend to get sucked into something that's just not worth it. It also gets down to courage of conviction...well sometimes....and then it's awfully hard to agree to disagree. Another thing, Moz, Clevermike, Ceradayne are all decent fellas, I've met both Mike and Moz and believe me it was my pleasure, so I really don't know what they're on about except to say I don't believe the things they call each other. My own thoughts of these forums is that it serves as a window of a posters persona and character and it's also a place where great friendships can be established.

".....there is a certain part of you that wants people to think the best of you....or is that just some wishful thinking?" Great question. I will simply say, that without exception we all want acceptance or want to be accepted, no-one wants to be rejected. I believe that most of the problems in the world is because at some point in life, someone somewhere has suffered rejection.
Glad to see you back on deck.
