Eddie Jones says he intends to build on England's "traditional strengths" after becoming their first foreign coach and has vowed not to slavishly copy the approach of world champions New Zealand. (???????)

The 55-year-old Australian was appointed on a four-year-deal by England's Rugby Football Union on Friday following the team's miserable World Cup display.

Former boss Stuart Lancaster stood down on November 11 after England became the first host nation to exit the World Cup in the group stage.

England looked decidedly off the pace compared to the All Blacks (????? didnt realise we were in the same pool) but Jones told a Twickenham press conference on Friday: "England have traditionally been strong at the set-piece and had a bulldog defence. You don't want to take that away.

"We need to add to the game. You've got to create your own unique style of play and I want the players to believe in it 100 per cent.

"We are not going to copy the All Blacks. We want the All Blacks to be looking at England.

"Everyone says New Zealand are a great attacking side, and they are, but they kick the ball more than anyone. (??????becomes Coach of England and immediately starts talking about NZ-->Bizzare)

"It's not about kicking or passing, it's about playing the rugby appropriate for that situation," (????????) explained Jones, whose first game in charge of England will be their Six Nations opener away to Scotland on February 6. (So Eddie what you are saying is under you England should not really bother about 2 of the 7 pillars of Rugby?? )

Jones, coach of the Australia side that lost the 2003 World Cup final to England and the man behind Japan's impressive performance at this year's edition, which included a shock win over South Africa, said he had been left a "great legacy" by Lancaster. (tongue in cheek No Class Eddie-->why dont you kick Lancaster while he is down)

"England have won two of the last three under-20s World Cups so there's great talent out there," said Jones, whose contract runs to the 2019 World Cup in Japan.

"The last World Cup side in 2015, at least 70 per cent of those guys can go into 2019. It's a great legacy that Lancaster has left, there's an opportunity to build something here."

He added: "It's funny how things work out. Last week I was sitting in Cape Town, looking at Table Mountain with my sunglasses on and now I'm here with my overcoat on." hahahahahaha yeah really funny Clown Eddie- "NOT"

Jones said he had to take the "once in a lifetime" chance to coach England after leaving the Stormers barely a week into his time with the South African side after stepping down as Japan boss.

"I don't feel good about what I did to the Stormers.(yeah right - we believe you Eddie- No we really do).  But this is a once in a lifetime opportunity and I had to take it."(what about the Stormers Eddie? What about your word is your bond Eddie?)

Writing as a columnist for Britain's Daily Mail newspaper, during the World Cup, Jones suggested that England would be a better side if they had included Steffon Armitage in their squad.

Armitage, who plays club rugby in France for European champions Toulon, was not chosen by Lancaster because of England's ban on selecting overseas players for Test duty.

Armitage also plays in the same openside flanker position as current England captain Chris Robshaw.

Jones criticised Robshaw in his Mail column as not being a genuine openside, but on Friday said he was just being "naughty". (what a tool)

And as for England's overseas policy, Jones added Friday: "You always have a bit of a view when you're outside the tent. (tent???riiiiiight )

"I want players who want to play for England and to play for England you have to play in the Premiership, and the Premiership is a strong competition.

"Also, I'm happy with what we've got."

 Eddy will be steady until a better offer comes along.Hows his FRench ?

 “I will be 59 by the next World Cup and I will be watching cricket in Barbados. That is one of my dreams,” Jones said.

His bucket-list includes watching cricket in Barbados – who releases their wish-list before they’ve earned their wage?? Well, EJ for starters…..so, go figure where England’s rugby future lies – on the cricket pitches in Barbados, of course!!

It appears England only have to pay the Stormers R100,000 to realease Eddie? If so they either bungled or Eddie insisted on it as the England job or some international post was a distinct possibility - the latter is more likely and in this scenario both parties would have knwo this could happen.Very sorry you will not be coaching the Mighty Stormers but fully appreciate you have to earn a living and secure your future etc. Perhaps another time.
Its a shame when a guy like Eddie gets it from a kbb on such weak grounds.

Two timing Eddie trying to explain away his dishonouring his Stormers Contract-->tsk tsk tsk-->I would suggest you pick better role models other than Eddie and Joke Beanhead. Embarrassing really. Should we even be talking about how Jake was begging for the English Job -->truely cringe worthy.

 First point I would like to raise is that England were not the first side to go out in the Pool stage when hosting a a RWC. We were joint hosts with Wales in '91. Wales went out in the Pool stages, so please stop spreading that particular falsehood. 
It is yet another used to rid us of a good, decent man who was doing a good long term job and we have now been landed with this creature; a man who is possibly the human embodiment of Janus !! 
As for the Armitage situation, I constantly pointed out it was an RFU edict not to select nasty little mercenaries like that brat and had nothing to do with Mr Lancaster. Nice to see that has also been proven correct !!Also, hope you all saw yet another stellar performance from the Armitage brothers on Sunday ! Mr Lancaster did, he was in the crowd  Yet more vindication but it is sadly too late  
Also, look up the interview Rob Andrew did pre RWC......proves he really does talk with forked tongue. Will try to get a link if I get a minute, but the gist is, long term plan, building the team, won't win this RWC, a RWC winning team needs 750 + caps, don't expect much from this lot, look to 2019 blah blah blah.So why did Mr L get fired then ? 

 Lancaster is a good man Becs. Now it seems that the chair he vacated seems to be inviting a certain kind of people with matching characteristics. It is indeed a pity that Lancaster who was set to revolutionize England did not get enough time to implement. He was let down by certain undisciplined key players and also unfortunate to have a kiwi coaching Wales and a kiwi coaching Ireland matching and negating his efforts in the 6 Nations.
