I post a posting in a jesting sense elsewhere - something about education as to rugby and cricket issues - not education in general - and uit cause the New Zealand members to go on the offensive.   Cheer up - we know that new Zealand has an excellent education system and the one in SA stnks to high heaven - but as it really necessary to go on the offensive like the New Zealnd members of the site did?

Please let me remind members again - this is a rugby site and whatever I write he relates to rugby matters - with a few times also about other codes of sport - I try ans shy away as far as possible from politics or government-related matters altogether.   Education is one issue where I would not like to get engage in. at all - especially in view of the deplorable state of education in SA.

This prove one thing though - and that is that we need to accept that saying anything critical about New Zealand is to their mind a crime against humanity and not to be allowed - even in jest.   To say anything about the All Blacks is more serious - it is a crime against the Universe.

My advice is - don't be so defensive - it means that any sign of shortcomings are not even considered at all and is the surest sign that things can and will go wrong in future.   Objctive criticism is a real issue that ensures improving performances - nothing else.

When I wrote anything about the All Blacks I am very mild in what I said - even to the extent of poiting out that it is only minor issues - so please not all the hysteria.

See the humour in your post title. Thought I was quite neutral in my reply though.

It's not a crime to say anything critical against New Zealand, wouldn't mind if what you were posting was based on some degree of reasonable research rather than a series of sweeping generalisations about New Zealanders based on a handful on interactions with Kiwis on a message board...Mike I personally don't find you clever or well informed for someone who purports to be so well travelled, I find your needy obsession for Kiwi's to admit their faults frankly rather tragic, but since it is an obsession of yours consider this an early Xmas present.

NZ Society

  • New Zealand's child and infant mortality rate is staggeringly high for a developed country, not enough is being done to protect children in abusive households.
  • Youth suicide rates have have spiked by 40%
  • NZ is not as clean and green as our image suggests - environmental statistics show more than half of monitored recreational sites on our rivers are unsafe for swimming, and that New Zealand is among the worst countries per capita for preserving natural surroundings.
  • Our dollar is rediculously overpriced
  • It costs a fortune to live in NZ, you need to be a Russian Oligarch to be to afford a property in Auckland's decent school zones
  • Our prime minister insulted David Beckham who was decent enough to spend the afternoon with his children..in other words, our PM is a bit of a bellend (you'd love him Mike).
  • Our accent is shit.

NZ Rugby

  • I'm not as optomistic for the next 18 months of All Black rugby - we're coming to the end of a cyclye of 8 years of All Black dominance with a number of players hitting the twilight of their careers - we lack real depth in the following positions, prop, hooker, openside, blindside, no 8, inside and outside centre...and debatebly first 5
  • Next season will see the start of rebuilding the next AB era, considering that I'm expecting the AB's to drop a few tests, for most that will be an absolute disaster - for me, I'm relatively comfortable with it considering that next point
  • We're starting to see the results of 4 years of u20 dominance starting to filter through to senior levels of rugby, players like Sam Cane, Beauden Barrett, TJ Perenara, Luke Whitelock, Francis Saili, Brodie Retalick and Jason Emery will in my opinion help form the backbone of a highly competitive AB side in the next 4 - 6 years, I believe we have enough talent (both player and coaching) in the country to win two of the next four World Cups.

Now I hope that satisfies you Mike, now please do get over yourself...merry xmas.

The only thing you're responsible for Baboon-ou is lowering the IQ of the board.

I cant seem to get a post through. The board there seems to have technical problems or something.
