the likes of Willie, Mapimpi, Faf, Koch, Bongi and Mostert it would seem

They remain in the squad as security and familiarity I guess but are not featuring in the match 23’s

Credit to Rassie for making these calls as it’s time to move on but the loyalty strings will have been tugging hard

Am no longer features so it’s a case of who’s next?

For me it has to be Reinach, de Allende, Esterhuizen, Kriel and Lood

The only older players worth retaining for now are Kolbe, Pollard, Ox, Marx, Wilco, Eben, RG, Kolisi, Kwagga and PSDT

Lets just hope that by the time the EOYT squad is selected that the list above not currently featuring in the match 23 do not get selected to tour and are replaced with youngsters

Dr Lucky has only one loyalty string…to himself. We are about to lose the greatest generation of Bok players since 1938….like Australia, England and New Zealand this is unlikely to be a smooth process.

Only an idiot would discard someone of the quality of Esterhuizen. He can easily still be a force to reckon with in 2027. We know Willemse is injury prone.

Time to dump them - we don’t need Esterhuizen any longer - he missed out to DA

Time for the next generation of 12’s

Queue - Willemse, Hooker and David Kriel

Same applies at 13

Investing in AE now would be like buying a second hand car

We don't need Esterhuizen? Like we didn't need Schalk Burger? Dawie, you've really made a bit of an arse of yourselves.

We certainly don’t need AE - Willemse is better

Based on what….some open field running from fullback and a ‘power’ try much like Esterhozen’s try..

Based on an outstanding performance against NZ which had zero to do with him playing fullback unless of course you know fuck all about rugby

For those astute enough to read the play would know that both his try and try assist were initiated from him moving back into the 12 position

He made more of an impact in that test as a 12 than AE has done in his entire test career

He was sublime

I wonder if this was Willemse playing 12. In still having a hard time locating a torrent. I recall a few sessions ago that Willemse and Willie were involved in an incident where the former had 10 and Willie 15 but they actually played the other way around. Almost nobody caught on that Willie was at first receiver all game long. I must review the last test.

Willemse was never a 10 - too impulsive and his laboured hand to foot was often exposed

Esterhuizen tries - both of them in 23 tests were NOT power tries. LMAO

I expect most of these players to remain in the squad, unless new players pop out of nowhere before the next World Cup.

Reinach - to Old, needs to be retired

de Allende - to Predictable, and he is ageing. Unlikely to have the pace at the next World Cup.

Esterhuizen - He will be in the World Cup squad.

Kriel - I think he will be in the World Cup squad, unless a new young player stands out before then.

It would be good to see how combine with another centre other than DumbLande.

Lood - Also should make the next World Cup, but is a bit injury-prone.

While studying at Rhodes I played a few games for them but chucked in the towel as I could hardly get through a game without dislocating my shoulder.

Frans Erasmus (Domkrag) came and coached the Rhodes side a few years after I had packed it in, but sadly lost his life in a car accident. Hit a tree if memory serves me correctly.

So Saffex was injury-prone, another Goosen with shoulders made from glass.

Back in the day, he was known as dodgy shoulder Dave.

Even little Hennie Leroux used to love running at Saffex and even tackling his crash ball at Craven Week.

McAllister the full game is now on the All Blacks Youtube channel.

It's kind of pathetic that the All Blacks channel can provide this while SA fans have to go to torrents for replays. The Official Springbok Youtube just provides highlight packages. Money has taken the game away from the people.

Yep both shoulders used to pop out and I used to just pop them back in myself

My grandfather had the same issue - he used to sleep with a sling on.

My rugby playing son has had ops on both shoulders

I could never throw a ball on the cricket field as would throw my shoulder out - had to bowl it back to the keeper, hence never fielding on the boundary

First game of cricket I played in England - I was bowling spin and as I stepped into the indentation at the crease my shoulder popped out. I popped it back in and the Poms thought I was from another planet. Took some pain killers and think I made 90 odd that day

Another cricket story - we played indoor cricket and in the heat of the moment I threw at the wickets and threw my shoulder out. It was the one time I really struggled to pop my shoulder back in. But I took comfort in the fact that I had one of my best mates in the team - a doctor.

He tried to get it back in for me but without success. I eventually got it back in myself, followed by me telling him he was fucking useless.

In his defence he said that as a GP he never dealt with dislocations. Dislocations are referred to hospital

Dave's talks a lot on here but his brain lets him down.

He tried to play sport but his body let him down.

All in all, a disappointment.

My eyes told me that.

Just like the eyes of other posters here told them that AE was immense.

...but, as we have understood, your brain lets you down, your shoulders and body let you down, so it's understandable that your eyes let you down too.

You have very little credibility left, Dave.

Your eyes told you what - somehin g ike wht I wan to see acually happened. and waht I do not want to see does noot happen. Let me put ot bluntly. Since 2018 Estrhuizen was a fringe player for the Springboks.playing in 23 ests and in two of those he played as a loosie, You saw what you think Etsrerhuizens performances were waya bove what t really was in terms of the advanced player performance compueriossed program did,

The programme also allow for study of opposing team players. And ther srength an eaknesses are. So Erasmus and Jones together with Browne used he relevnt programe and foubd a defensive gap at 10 and 12 and out goes Libbok and Esterhuiszen and replaced by De Allende and Sacha, De Allende from the team and back for use as a as a replacement loosie on Saturday.

A t 31 years of age Esterhuizen will never improve in performances and I agree with Dave - replace him asap. Th ere is a better center in he Under 20 RWC last year - better than Esterhuizen eve was and bring him ino the suad from next year. More paxce and a better defender anyway.

Great news for you Mike and you Stormers supporters.

Esterhuizen is moving to the Cape.

So finally you will have a decent back line that is if Libbok is not playing.

Not wanted in the Stomers team and the fact that he moved indicates the Sharks have had enough of him and getting rid of him by transfer was to the benefit of the Sharks, Esterhuizen is a dead head player, and because of pace -deficiency a questinab le defender, The Stormers may use him as a loosie anyway,
