Defence vs attack. And defence largely prevailed as it so often does. The ABs tried to play rugby…we box kicked. Once too often, that last box kick in the 22 that led to the fly kick out gave NZ crucial territory. All we needed to do there was play the phases.

This was probably as poorly as the ABs could play, they were too amped rushing passes to men not expecting them.

Our scrum was was strong in the second half and we clearly have an edge there as I expected.

Lomp contrived to once again miss they key tackle that led to the AB try, but had a decent game. Kwagga was our best player and Vermeulen had a strong game. None of our backs didn’t anything of note although collectively the defence had clearly been adjusted.

It was tense….appropriate for the 100th game. But if the Boks want to win these close matches convincingly ……this was exactly like the Welsh test and the Lions series….we need a backline coach. Obviously we don’t need Harrrassmus because we played exactly his game without him

I haven't seen the All Blacks play like this for many, many years. It reminded me of the Wallaby side we walloped in 2008. The same kind of handling errors. We couldn't really punish them. Our defence successfully, for the most part, kept New Zealand from going wide as they would have wanted, but it wasn't very successful with containment thereafter. We are being absolutely monstered in contact, and our supposed big ball carriers are not delivering. If you run at the Boks, you are pretty much guaranteed to break free. All one has to do is maintain composure to get the second or third runner away if you are caught from behind. The All Blacks have room for growth, and they inevitably will improve. Will we keep pace?

The reason the AB’s played poorly is because the Boks had their number - forcing indecision and errors That’s what pressure does

Some of it was pressure… no doubt. But some of it was just being too anxious to score, dropping simple passes, making unexpected offloads, fumbling the ball at the base of the scrum in the haste to speed up play.

The All Blacks were forcing passes and trying to play quicker than they needed to against our slow thinking defence. Our defensive line was totally overwhelmed; essentially, we were at their mercy. The Bok defensive line is an atrocity. We have been bullied in every single test this year. Opponents can run right through and over us, yet we labour for inches. This is not a world class defence.

Box kick after box kick. Interesting tactics.. but the Boks truly believe this is the way forward? Give away possession. It was just lucky the ABs had a poor game. Very low standards by the All Blacks, so many unforced errors! I know we’re hearing about all this pressure by SA, “they were so good just let themselves down” they should of..could of this and that. But they don’t look at the ABs performance? How many penalties they also got, how many poor performances the AB had. The ABs line out is terrible! Our performance under the high ball was absolutely awful! Gifted the Boks an easy try! The ABs won’t be happy with that rubbish display. The Boks missed a great chance to beat the ABs. Missed opportunity! The ABs won’t be offering to many opportunities like this again. Gates are shut now, ABs should put the Boks to bed next week.
