It was a mess - I only had 13 players starting and one sub counting points.  The real reason was the byes and a  number of injure or suspended players.  Bad news - I expected even a bigger disaster than what actually happened.
What was disappointing was the number of players with poor scores that I have selected from the NZ franchise teams.

JW,
As with Testrugby, surely points scored is the best way to rank the league (at least until playoffs start) and the relative strength of the teams?
If so, means we have Saffa's at the top of each comp.
Just saying........

BTW - anyone know when the playoffs actually start for Foxsport?
Fixture list only goes through Week 13. Help tab says default playoffs start Week 15, but that can be changed through League Settings. Can't find those settings anywhere, so maybe it was done when Mikey set up the league?
Just wondering if Week 14 is going to be a bye week as far as head to head, or if our playoffs start Week 14 in some sort of expanded format from the default settings?

oimatey, I would be fine with points for, this w-l in the head-to-head is too random. Based on points for overall results would be:1. Oimatey2. Black Power3. JW
Means I move up from 5th to 3rd

Ah nice,  NZ two of the top three.
Or, Saffas three of the top five. Depends on how you look at it !
Luke's Canes with some tough matchups - ranks 6th in league for points scored, but 11th by W-L as he's had the second most points scored against.

The qualifiers start at round 17 according to SANZA site, the games prior to that show whose playing who in terms of the game schedule so I think that means the head-to-head is running until round 17.
I don't trust fox after last year when the comp suddenly ended.

JW - you talking about for Foxsport fantasy? When in league fixtures, the dropdown box only goes to Round 13

Oimatey, I checked the Foxsports fantasy rugby rules & read this:
2. Season 2016 - Key Dates

Friday, 26 February 2016 at 17:35 (AEDT)

Super Rugby Regular Season starts,
Round 1 unlimited Trade lockout

Friday, 4 March 2016 at 17:35 (AEDT)

Round 2: Start of the Default 14 Team, Head-to-Head Leagues

Friday, 11 March 2016, Friday, 1 April 2016, Friday, 8 April 2016, Friday, 15 April 2016, and Friday, 6 May 2016, Friday, 20 May 2016,

 at 17:35 (AEDT)

Round 3,6,7,8,11,13: Bye Rounds

Friday, 1 July 2016 at 17:35 (AEDT)

Round 15: Default Head-to-Head Leagues Finals Series begin – but you can change this via your League Settings

So according to this round 13 is a bye round. Not sure why because teams will be playing each other. Looks like we will have a comp during the finals this year starting in round 17. According to the past schedules having a bye round doesn't mean we wont have a comp, it just means some teams won't play, e.g. round 3.
However, it is strange that the drop down menu stops at round 13, we may just have to wait & see what they do.

When they say "bye round" they're talking about our teams playing each other in the head-to-head league. It doesn't mean they won't be scoring points in the Crusaders vs Waratahs game for example, it just means you won't be drawn against another Fantasy Manager in that week.

Having said that, I doubt if they've changed it from last year and I would guess their comp runs until the end of the pool stages the same as it did last year and excludes the playoffs and finals.

I think the Foxsport comp sucks this year. It's not just the emphasis on the stupid head-to-head comp rather than the total score, it's the ugly user-unfriendly interface which was clearly programmed by a certified moron.

The Superbru and Testrugby fantasy comps are both much better.

Rooi, these "bye rounds" are still not understandable, e.g. in round 3 (I played Relentlessly awesome). For other bye rounds listed it is the same in round 6 (I competed against Black Power), 7 (I competed against CC).
Next year I suggest we switch to NZ Herald or some other comp. I agree the head-to-head is not the relevant indicator & not being able to compete to the end of the comp makes no sense.
PS. when I check the other league I compete in (Auto league 1) the drop down menu lists 14 rounds and also the qrt finals, semi finals and finals.
CleverMike, the rules say:
Round 15: Default Head-to-Head Leagues Finals Series begin – but you can change this via your League Settings

Do we have to change something in the settings for our league? If so you may have to do it as I believe you were the one to create the league.
