Federer Wins Aussie Open!!!!

Just heard this!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Couldn't bear to watch it in case Federer lost! Beeno your man of steel has his limits. Over the moon with this result and will watch the tape and enjoy each moment. 
Federer now has 1 8 slam can he add a couple more. Hope so!

Never have I been so delighted to be wrong. This was as you predicted Cloudy....an awesome final. Right up there with Borg against Mac at Wimbledon. I must say when Rafa broke early in the 5th it looked liked the old script. But Fed came back floating as he did in the first three sets. And wasn't that last service game heavy....my wife couldn't take it and left. But came back when I turned my movie speakers onto full volume after match point! .............. To be honest I don't think Fed has ever played better. His backhand is now bullet- proof, he hardly needed to resort to the slice except for that impossible cross court skimmer in the 5th. And his service is definitely better.....his ability to hit the swinging volley and half volley off the baseline remains the best in the history of the game. I would say the only slight decline is in his lateral speed wide to the forehand .............. We had dinner last night with our old tennis pro, and when I picked Rafa, he chose Fed because of the court speed. That was probably the main difference, but Fed found something against Rafa in that 5th set he hasn't found against him before.....refusal to accept defeat, ............. Glorious stuff from both old war horses!

 Federer is like Trum*p a winner. I couldn' t be more pleased. I have been busy so have as yet only watched first set.

Well done Roger......those South African genes sure are great and always rise to the challenge. 

Now we need to get that gene pool into the rugby management side of things.

You could be right Cloudy there are a few "multies" on the board at present. This wee bloke 2oneeb is an interesting character as it is Beeno spelt backwards Who could he be, I wonder, lol
