Fire Balls

Since we are really out of stuff to talk about... About a year ago I was driving in Randburg with my girlfriend, at night. Directly I front of us, probably about 3kms away a huge fire ball streaked across the sky. Looked it up and they're called Bolides. Was pretty cool. Because it was so far away it seemed to travel rather slowly. Thought it was pretty cool. Then last week, also in Randburg, i had just gotten out of my car at Woolies and saw another one. This one was only about 500m away. Exact same thing though. It was so close that I actually saw pieces break off. Seems I've been pretty lucky as I also once saw a point meteor in Spain. That's basically a meteor that is heading directly towards you through the atmosphere. It was a round spot of light that started small, got big and then shrunk again. Only lasted about two seconds. I was convinced it was a ufo haha. Anyone else seen bolides over Joburg or anywhere else of late?
