Fleck catch a wake up

You played the game on the edge, full of flair and imagination.......open your eyes to the fact that Coleman is not the answer at 10, Kotze not the answer at 13, Vermaak not the answer at 9 and Lleyds not the answer on the wing.
But your biggest failing to date is the belief that v/Rensburg is better than Kebble at loosehead.
v/Rensburg has always been an average prop, what he is doing back in the Stormers set up is beyond me.....its as bad as having Matt Stevens playing for the Sharks last year.
Ollie Kebble has been very good for a year now, always an understudy to the impressive Kitshoff, but now with the redhead gone it was time to show faith and investment in young Kebble.
For the rest, Fleck has it spot on in the forwards. Thankfully JD Schickerling has taken over from the very average v/Vuuren as the bench lock. Its a pity Jean Kleyn picked up and injury.
Its in the backs that Fleck is missing a beat. The loss of de Allende and du Preez is huge but there is still enough to work with.
Groom had a great CC, so why is he not playing ahead of Vermaak? Throw young du Plessis in the deep end and play him at 10. Carel's son has some spark about him.
With no de Allende, de Jongh is being employed at 12, he will do a job, but.........
Why not have a look at what Baby Bok Daniel du Plessis can offer.......Michael du Plessis son?
Kotze has not been poor, in fact last year he looked quite good but my guess is that his lack of physicality amongst a host of little players is doing him no favours.
The obvious choice at 13 is Kobus v/Wyk, when are the powers that be going to wake up to the potential of this guy at centre, where he played all his age group rugby.
Zas has been good and now finds himself on the bench, why?
Where is Taute and EW Viljoen?
The backline should be:
15. Taute 14. Kolbe 13. v/Wyk 12. de Jongh 11. Zas 10. du Plessis 9. Groom.....with Dan du Plessis on the bench

 It's  Jean Luc du Plessis if I'm not mistaken,  but I'm all for him getting some game time.

 Yeah Carel's son who plays 10.....and its Michael's son that plays 12

 Both have strong rugby genes. Can't wait for them to come of age in the big league. Michael played decent at 10 too. We need a bit of old school WP Rugby for the Stormers,  and it won't hurt the Boks either. 

 Agreed, get these two youngsters involved. At least JL is on the bench.

As far as I know Taute is still carrying an injury.   
That backline is s dead loss and they are going to cost the Stormers dearly tomorrow.  I do not rate De Jongh as a center - as Beeno pointed out elsewhere he caused the Stormers serious problems last week because of failure to pass balls and he has no penetration - is good when he is in space.
I would rather see him playing on the wing if they insist on having him in the team.
My own choice for the backline differs from yours and I would select the following:-
15 EW Viljoen, 14 De Jongh, 13 Van Wyk, 12 Daniel du Plessis, 11  Zas, 10 Jean-Luc du Plessis, 9 Groom
The problem with Kolbe is he is just too small to play in the 15 player game.   He has bulked up a bit - but that has affected his speed and he is not all that good under -pressure-related high balls and his attacking and defense skills is in fact questionable.    This guy is an ideal 7's player and is not going to get anywhere playing for the Stormers - sad to say.   

 mike, i think Kolbe should play 9. He does have a decent pass, good boot and also great acceleration.

You share the same opinion iro Kolbe as Beeno does.  He plays as the scrummie for the sevens and that may be the answer to his career future.  I think WP must use him as a scrummie in the upcoming CC and build him up from there - he is definitely physically too small to play at full back or wing.

I think it can work to have a small guy who fits into an overall efficient backline - but in the case of Kolbe he does not really add value to a defective backline.

 Never have so many (bad ideas) come from so few (posters). Let's examine them:
1 Taute is a slow tank....Kolbe is much more dangerous
2 Van Wyk is a long, gangly guy who has shown no evidence of hands.....he is a wing, and should play instead of Leyds.
3 No ...starting a youngster who has hardly seen CC action against the Brumbies was not a good idea, for the youngster's future or the team.....bench is the place to start.
4 Groom may be an option but it's scarcely a slam dunk, he has a long history of catastrophic mistakes at the worst time.....wasn't it Vermaak who took the ball right out of his hands to set up a crucial try a few years back.
5 and just to show stupidity has no bounds, Mike wants to start with 2 youngsters at 10 and 12 and put de Jongh on the wing.
Sadly this is the level of thinking that characterizes Bok fans. No appreciation for the levels of the game, the physical limitations of favorite players and the tactics of the team.
