 another All Black linked with drugs. Poor O'conner will probably get the blame, but the word on the street is that it was Ali Williams who conducted the deal from start to finish. Oconner had just bought a kebab, and as he got back to the scene he got arrested. 

What a sad and disappointing tail about two talented players who played great rugby and were admired by so many for years.
Unfortunately, they succumbed to temptation as many folks do now and the end result is that they will be remembered for these transgressions and not their performances on the field.
What a pity.
We can only hope and pray that this is not widespread in the rugby community.

 Williams has always been a loose cannon and a d***head! Couldn't believe it when he was made captain of the Blues a year or so ago. Didn't change his behaviour one iota.O'Connor has had multiple indiscretions as well.

If you look at the demographics there is always a percentage of people who mess up with drugs, addiction , etc. so it is only to be expected that our sports teams will contain a few. Sad but true.

French police on Sunday charged former All Black Ali Williams with buying cocaine and Australian international James O'Connor with possession of the drug, police sources said.

The pair, who play in France's Top 14 league, were arrested at 3:00 am on Saturday outside a nightclub near the Champs Elysees in possession of 2.4 grams (0.08 ounces) of the substance.

They were released from custody on Sunday evening with Williams, 35, due to appear in court at a later date having accepted the charge.

O'Connor faces a fine on the lesser charge of possession, Paris police sources said.

Initial indications from the police investigation suggest Williams bought the drug, although he tested negative for it, while O'Connor, who tested positive, was not involved in the purchase.

Plain-clothes officers saw Williams in a car with two suspected drug dealers while O'Connor was outside and appeared to be acting as a lookout, police said.

When they were challenged, Williams attempted to get rid of the cocaine by throwing it away, added a police source who said the two players had clearly been drinking.

Police said €180 changed hands in the deal. The pair were detained along with the suspected dealers.

The two players were interviewed by drugs police officers during their spell in custody.

Racing 92 released a statement on Saturday saying their player Williams had been suspended indefinitely, but Toulon said they would wait before deciding whether to discipline O'Connor.

Williams earned 77 New Zealand caps between 2002 and 2012 and plays in the second row. He was part of the All Black team that won the 2011 World Cup.

O'Connor, 26, who plays on the wing or at fullback for Toulon, appeared 44 times for Australia between 2008 and 2013. He made his debut at 18, the second youngest Wallaby in Australian rugby history.

 Ali-J Williams is suspended indefinitely, while Toulon don't want to renew the contract of O'Connor. Although they probably were not going to renew it anyway.

It's complicated." O'Connor's contract with Toulon comes to an end at the end of the season, Boudjellal confirming that his deal would not be extended. "When you're under the influence of alcohol, you rarely shine. For James, I blame it more on distress than stupidity. We'll look after him. I know there are things to sort out, but it's not cocaine that will do it for him," he said. Boudjellal also voiced his concerns that cocaine had become commonplace in players' post-match festivities."It's only my opinion, but I have the impression that in certain clubs and among many players, coke is very popular," he said. "We've had the alcohol stage, now we're at another one. We can't support that. That needs to stop."
O'Connor's run-in with Paris police is the latest off-field digression for a player who made his Wallabies debut at the age of 18 and has gone on to win 44 caps. 
He was infamously banned from boarding a plane in Perth shortly after his last Test, against Argentina in 2013, later apologising for the drunken incident. O'Connor decided to move to England where he played for London Irish before joining Toulon in 2014.
The 26-year-old headed home to join Reds in a bid to boost his chances of being selected for the Wallabies for the 2015 World Cup. 
But he missed the cut for Michael Cheika's squad and exercised an early-release clause that saw him head back to Toulon.

Whoever was in the car was buying the gear. But whoever was lookout acted with common purpose and should receive the same penalty as the guy who bought the gear.
